Please like and share far and wide...
Let's make all fisherman aware that abandoned fishing line and tackle is very often a death sentence to innocent and unsuspecting wildlife. This Heron was entangled in fishing line (that still had 2 hooks attached, one was lodged in his wing and the other in his leg)
This would of led to a slow and painful death.
Let's all fish responsibly and take our trash home and dispose of it properly.
We are after all in their back yards so let's respect them and enjoy not only the fishing, but the nature and wildlife too.

(This Heron was taken to a vet who removed the hooks and treated the wounds, he will be monitored and hopefully releases again in a day or two)

So the babies have learnt to fly..
The landings are not too good, so they land on the roof and slide down onto the stoep area. This one slid down onto the other ones head 🤣

Even on the way to launch, there is enough time to get this little fella to the safe side of a busy road where he can blend in..
