Key Components of the EFI System
• Battery & Fuse Box: Provides electrical power (12V) and circuit protection via main and secondary fuses.
• Engine Control Unit (ECU): The central computer ("brain") that processes input data from various engine sensors to control fuel delivery and ignition timing.
• Sensors & Actuators: Includes the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP), Fuel Pressure Sensor (FPS), and High Pressure Fuel Pump.
• Fuel Rail & Injectors: Distributes pressurized fuel to the individual cylinders (Cylinders 1–4).
Fuel Injector Spray Patterns
• Normal Spray Pattern: A fine, atomized, cone-shaped mist that ensures complete and efficient combustion.
• Partially Clogged: A distorted, uneven stream that reduces atomization and leads to poor performance.
• Heavily Clogged: Large droplets and a weak stream, causing incomplete burning and misfires.
• Dripping / Leaking: Fuel continues to drip or leak past the nozzle when closed, leading to hard starts, rough idling, or washed cylinder walls.
