The Oracle Sport is a popular South African multi-purpose sport utility craft known for its exceptional versatility. Designed ( Johan Steyn) to comfortably handle fishing, skiing, and family cruising, it typically seats up to 10 people and is famously powered by Suzuki outboard motors.

Review of Oracle
Sitting on her trailer next to the water, the Oracle Sport reveals some wonderful hints of what is to come. With relatively high sides, accented by black and red graphics, there is promise of a dry ride while the wide bow indicates there will be plenty of space for friends and family to have great fun on board.

Launching proved very easy and we were soon out on the water having a look what the Oracle Sport has to offer.

Layout

Once on board, the most notable difference between the Oracle Sport and most other deck boats is the access to the bow seating. While a hinged or removable centre section of the windshield is the normal way of accessing the bow, the designers of the Oracle Sport have provided a windscreen that extends for approximately two-thirds of the width of the boat on the starboard side with a small sink and locker on the port side with access to the bow in between.

The Oracle Sport can carry 10 people in comfort, with space for four adults in the bow area. The port seat is suitable for two while the starboard seat curves around in front of the helmsman, making it a little more spacious.

Conveniently situated stainless steel grab rails and drinks holders are provided, as are marine speakers so passengers in the front won’t feel left out of the party.

Steps to access the small front deck are moulded between the seats. Two covers on the front deck hinge open to reveal a telescopic boarding ladder and a small storage area suitable for a light anchor and rope.

Moving aft to the main cockpit, there is a bench seat aft of the sink on the port side with another L-shaped bench which extends down the starboard side from behind the captain’s chair and turns in front of the motor.

A step between the two seats provides access to the stern where there is another boarding ladder, also stored under a hinged cover.

The captain’s seat is positioned to allow easy access to the controls in the helm area and ensure good all-round visibility.

Seating is trimmed in an attractive white, grey and black colour scheme broken by red accents. The seating is firm and comfortable offering excellent support for all on board.
