In 2007 a world renowned Tail Pipe brand was purchased, this moved Difres

co into a manufacturing space which helped to gather momentum for what may lay ahead. During 2008/2009 South Africa went through an extended period of power outages and energy supply shortages, this lead to a whole new industry of power generation through the use of generators, being the exhaust industry Difresco was able to identify early on a need for industrial/generator exhaust, with its extensive experience in the automotive exhaust industry was then able to develop and market a range of industrial exhaust applications ranging from a 30/40kva unit all the way up to a 3000KVA unit. This new industry in South Africa created new manufacturing opportunities and in 2013 Difresco purchased new plant and equipment, which facilitated in providing better lead times and improving the overall quality of the industrial exhaust opportunities. In 2016 a Truck bus and industrial exhaust line was purchased which firmly entrenched Difresco in manufacturing but also in the industrial truck/bus and generator market. New business with OEM’s such as MAN and Bell Equipment further enhanced the reputation of Difresco as well as lead to further investments in manufacturing plant. In 2020 and with the help of various stakeholders Difresco was able to achieve its ISO 9001 accreditation through Lloyds of London and is now well set to become a market leader in the supply of exhausts and exhaust system components throughout South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa as well as North America, United Kingdom and Europe.
