Let me introduce myself!

My name is Daniel John Wilson
I am a born and bred Burdekin bloke. I am a Light Vehicle Mechanic by Trade and love anything with wheels on it!

Over the past six months, I’ve designed, built, and published Your Local Marketplace – a local Marketplace and Business Directory app created to help our small businesses thrive and make it easier for locals to discover what’s available right here in our community.

No more:

👉 “I didn’t even know we had that shop in Ayr.”

👉 “I didn’t know he hired out equipment.”

👉 “I’ve lost that Facebook post about the lawn mowing contractor and can’t find it again.”

👉 “What chemist is open today?” 😅

The app is perfect for locals, new residents, and visitors passing through the region. It’s also a great way to stay connected with local businesses, trades, services, jobs, sporting clubs, community groups, and hire equipment — all without needing social media.

🎉 Early Supporter Offer

For a limited time, the app costs a ONE-TIME payment of just 99 CENTS processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

In the future, the app may move to a 99 CENT per month subscription model, however anyone who purchases the app during this launch period will continue to have FULL access with no subscription required. 😀

The small fee helps cover the ongoing costs of running, maintaining, and improving the platform while allowing me to keep local business listings, specials, promotions, and community information FREE to list and FREE to PROMOTE.

This project has been completely self-funded, with a significant amount invested in development and countless unpaid hours spent building it while working a full-time Mechanic day job , being a dad, A partner and spending time with my family outside of work.

My goal is simple:

✅ Help local businesses grow.

✅ Help locals find products, services, trades, jobs, rooms, and hire equipment.

✅ Help connect children and adults with sporting clubs, dance groups, and community organisations.

✅ Keep local business promotion free and accessible.

✅ Create a premium local platform that benefits the whole community.

✅ No More Small businesses close down because word of mouth wasnt enough

I promise to keep improving the app, listening to feedback, and giving back to the community that helped raise me.

🍃 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 – 𝗔𝘆𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌳

Following the success of Council’s recent Free Mulch Day, this popular initiative is continuing with a monthly event for residents to enjoy.

Residents are invited to collect free mulch at the Ayr Transfer Station on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 from 8am-12pm.

Council staff will be on-site with machinery to assist with loading. Bring along a trailer and take advantage of this opportunity to reuse green waste in your garden 🌱

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on Council’s website and social media channels for upcoming dates and additional information.
