Winter in Queensland might not mean snow and ice, but it still puts extra demands on your vehicle — especially if you're doing longer trips or heading inland where overnight temperatures really drop.

Let's clear up some oil change myths 🛢️

There's so much confusing advice out there about when to change your oil and what type to use. Let's sort the facts from the myths.

**Myth: You need to change your oil every 5,000km.**

Reality: It depends on your car, your oil, and how you drive. Modern synthetic oils and engines last much longer than they used to. Check your owner's manual — some cars can go 10,000km or even 15,000km between oil changes. We follow the manufacturer's recommendations, not outdated rules of thumb.

**Myth: Dark oil means it needs changing.**

Reality: Oil is supposed to get dark. That's what it looks like when it's doing its job — cleaning your engine and carrying away contaminants. Colour alone isn't a reliable way to judge whether it needs changing.

**Myth: Synthetic oil causes leaks in older engines.**

Reality: Synthetic oil doesn't cause leaks. What it does is find existing leaks that thicker conventional oil was hiding. If you've got a leak, you want to know about it — not cover it up with thick oil.

What actually matters? Following your service schedule, using the right oil grade for your engine, and checking your oil level regularly between services.

Does your car pull to one side when you're driving? 🚗

If you've noticed your steering wheel isn't quite centred anymore, or your car drifts left or right on a straight road, there's a good chance your wheel alignment is out.

It happens to everyone eventually. You hit a pothole, bump a gutter when you're parking, or it just gradually goes out over time with normal wear and tear. The problem is, most people don't realise how much it's affecting their car until it becomes really obvious — like when you're actively fighting the steering wheel on every trip.

Poor alignment doesn't just make driving annoying. It wears out your tyres unevenly (which gets expensive fast), affects your fuel economy, and makes your car harder to control if you need to brake suddenly or swerve to avoid something.

The good news? A wheel alignment is straightforward and doesn't take long. We check your current alignment against your vehicle's manufacturer specifications (every car is different, so we always use the specs specific to your make and model), make the adjustments, and you're back on the road driving straight. Your car will handle better, your tyres will last longer, and you won't be constantly correcting the steering.
