A closer look at a seized turbo 🔧

This one had us looking into why the intake hoses were sucking in!

The turbo helps your engine produce power by pushing more air into the engine. When something goes wrong, it can affect airflow and engine performance.

Leaving the issue unchecked can lead to further engine damage, so finding the cause is important.

Another interesting diagnosis through the workshop👨🏻‍🔧

Front Swivel Hubs - 79 Series LandCruiser

We recently replaced the front swivel hubs on this 79 Series LandCruiser after finding wear around the front end.

The swivel hubs play an important part in keeping everything moving smoothly while helping keep grease, dirt and water where they should be.

Worn swivel hubs can lead to leaks, excess play, steering issues and uneven tyre wear, so it’s worth keeping an eye on what’s happening around the front hubs.

Another 79 Series sorted and back on the road 🚙

This one took a bit of looking into 🔧

The engine was losing oil pressure and the cause wasn’t immediately obvious, so we had to dig a little deeper. Turns out this flattened O-ring on the oil pickup wasn’t sealing properly, letting the pickup draw air instead of oil. Sometimes it’s the little things that cause big problems.

This little sensor can be the reason your engine isn’t running right.

A mass air flow sensor measures the amount of air going into the engine, helping the car work out the right amount of fuel to use.

When it starts giving the wrong readings, it can throw the whole balance out and you may notice the car running rough, hesitating or using more fuel than usual.

A small sensor, but when it’s not reading correctly, you’ll definitely know about it. Something not running right?

Ever wondered what’s actually sitting inside your fuel tank? 👀⛽️

This one came in with a failed electric fuel pump, so we had to get the fuel sender out to get to it.

The electric fuel pump sits inside the fuel tank and has the important job of pumping fuel through to the engine at the pressure it needs to run properly.
When the pump fails, you can end up with a car that won’t start, is struggling to start, cutting out or not running properly.

Swipe through to see the fuel pump, the fuel sender it sits in, and then where the whole assembly sits inside the fuel tank.

A pretty interesting look at something most people never get to see!
