Do you have the “Wheel Wobbles”?

One of the most common causes of 'Wheel Wobbles' is poor wheel balance.

Wheels can be unbalanced in two planes; the rotational plane, which causes the wheel to bounce up and down, or the lateral plane, causing the wheel to move from side to side.

Depending on the cause of the unequal weight distribution both conditions can usually be corrected by professional wheel balancing by Blackwood Dyno Tune & Service.

Do you know how old your battery is?

If your battery is over 3 years old, regular checks are important. We test your battery at every service and record the results in your service history.

If you won't be driving your vehicle for an extended period, we recommend connecting it to a quality trickle charger or battery maintainer. Modern vehicles have electronic systems that are designed to remain powered, and disconnecting the battery can result in the loss of settings or require system resets.

If you have any concerns about your battery's condition, drop in for a FREE Battery Test. We're happy to help keep you on the road with confidence.

Winter Maintenance Tips

1. Replace Windscreen Wipers if they are not doing their job.
2. Have your fluid levels and oil checked as cold temperatures can affect them.
3. Do you have good stopping power? Have a brake test done.
4. Do you have enough grip for the wet weather? Check the wear and tread depth of your tyres.
5. Are you tyres inflated properly? This can also affect your braking.

If you would like us to perform a Winter Safety Inspection, call and we can arrange a time to suit you. Wet weather can make driving tricky.

Tuesday Tips - Engine Oil

Don't Ignore the Oil Warning Light

If the oil warning light comes on while driving, don't assume it's just a reminder for a service. A red oil pressure warning light can indicate:
🔴 Low oil level
🔴 Low oil pressure
🔴 A lubrication system fault
Continuing to drive may cause severe engine damage. Safely stop and investigate as soon as possible.

Symptoms of a Faulty Cooling System

The cooling system plays a crucial role in maintaining the right temperature of your engine. It circulates coolant—a mix of water and antifreeze—through the engine, absorbing the excess heat. The hot coolant then passes through the radiator, where it's cooled by air before circulating back into the engine. This process helps keep your engine from overheating, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.

But if a fault occurs things can go wrong quickly ..... read our article for more information https://bit.ly/CarRadiatorCoolingSystemExplained

Blackwood Dyno Tune & Service have been servicing cars since 1993. We know cooling systems inside and out. Don't ignore the warning signs ... book in for an inspection today.
