When we bought the business about four years ago, it came with a stash of old Classic Bikes magazines collected over nearly 20 years.
The business was previously known as Brisbane Motorcycle Spares — BMS, before we took over and rebranded. One thing we kept was the magazine collection.
We've been going through it lately and found some seriously interesting stories about old BSA's, Triumphs, Nortons, Hondas, scooters, racing, builders, characters and bikes that are now worth $40,000 or $50,000+ — but were once selling for around $200 if not less. .
Many of these stories were published before a lot of today's riders had the chance to read them.
So we're thinking about photographing the original articles and sharing them here, just as they appeared back then.
Before we spend hours photographing pages, we'd love to know:
Is this something you'd like to see?
If there's enough interest, we'll start digging through the stash and bring some of these old stories back to life.
Because this sort of motorcycle history is worth preserving.
Old bikes. Old stories. Old-school motorcycle history.
