Fitting a new crate engine to a Ve Ute.

Another story of a vehicle purchased and had an engine rebuilt 20,000kms ago. Vehicle was presented with next to no oil pressure when hot -oil light was flashing on at idle.

The engine was running 10w60

After looking at options - the customer decided to put a new engine in the vehicle.

In this process we installed a cam package along with the other supporting mods.

This engine had lifters fitted 3 months ago how did they go.
This is a daily job - the amount of poorly repaired engines we see you seriously wouldn’t believe.

I get it cost’s a lot to do engine mods but the real disappointing part is the amount of workshops that just throw half the parts at the engine.

This engine will need a crank regrind or replaced, all bearing are damaged, camshaft is damaged, oil pump is damaged. Check out the amount of lifter debris in the oil pick up.

3D Printing some ignition lead holders

Still have a lot of learning to do with the printer but it certainly has helped us out.
We were servicing a Mazda 2 with a broken bonnet rod holder clip - told the customer i made one - he couldn’t believe it. I took him out the back and showed him the printer set up and he was absolutely amazed.
The best part is I can control this remotely so when you have a brain wave at home I can program the print - hit the button and it is waiting for me in the morning.

Getting this Kinga sorted.
Extremely poor set up. Not running massive boost but 52 deg of timing at wide open throttle probably wouldn’t be a long term option for the motor. 10-1 afr at light throttle on the primary also isn’t a winning combo.
After a new plugs/leads,jetting,timing the engine now operates correctly and hopefully it won’t need to visit the fuel bowser as often.
