“Will this part fit my vehicle?”

For automotive ecommerce retailers, this simple question can make or break a sale.

Customers shopping for automotive parts need to know that what they're buying is compatible with their specific vehicle. Without reliable fitment information, they may abandon their cart, contact customer support for clarification or order the wrong part, leading to costly returns and a frustrating customer experience.

So, how can automotive retailers make it easier for customers to find the right parts?

It starts with smarter fitment solutions.

Vehicle lookup tools, accurate compatibility data and online parts finders help customers narrow down their options based on their vehicle's make, model, year and other relevant specifications. When integrated into the shopping experience, these tools reduce guesswork and help customers make more confident purchasing decisions.

For retailers, this means more than improving the customer experience. It creates opportunities to reduce fitment-related returns, streamline customer support and turn more product searches into completed sales.

The right automotive ecommerce setup can make vehicle compatibility easier to manage across your website and sales channels, helping customers find the parts they need with less friction.

For Australian retailers, the opportunity to grow profitably isn't always found in reaching more people. Sometimes, it's in understanding what happens to the customers you're already attracting.

Consider these three scenarios:

SCENARIO 01: Customers see your products, but they don't understand why they should choose you.

Your competitors sell similar products. Your prices are comparable. Your ads are reaching potential customers, but your messaging isn't giving them a compelling reason to buy from your business instead.

A Marketing Messaging Audit looks at how your
brand positions itself, communicates value and connects with customer buying behaviour.

SCENARIO 02: Your product pages get attention, but shoppers hesitate at the point of purchase.

A customer clicks through to a product they're interested in. They browse the page, but something leaves them uncertain. They exit without completing their order.

A Product Page Audit helps identify where confusion, hesitation or a lack of trust may be interrupting the buying experience, so you can make informed decisions about what needs to improve.

SCENARIO 03: Customers leave, and there's no clear strategy to bring them back.
Not every shopper is ready to buy on their first visit. But what happens next? Are your email marketing, social media, advertising and remarketing working together to guide potential customers back to your store?

A Marketing Funnel Audit examines these touchpoints to uncover where customer engagement is being lost and where opportunities for repeat purchases and stronger retention may exist.

Three different challenges. One important question: do you know which one is affecting your business most?

You don't need to invest in every solution or overhaul your entire marketing strategy at once. You need clarity on what deserves your attention first.

Book a FREE discovery session with ZELLIS. We'll discuss your business, help you identify where to focus, and explore the right next step towards more profitable growth.

No pressure. No pitch. Just a conversation about your business.

Let's find your next growth opportunity.

When marketing a product, it's easy to focus on its features. But customers can be influenced by much more than specifications and price.

For SMEs, it helps to look at your product from different angles:

• Does it solve a problem? Show customers how it makes something easier, faster, or more convenient.

• What makes the experience appealing? Think about the texture of a product, the taste of a meal, or the feel of using something well-made.

• How might it make someone feel? Consider the confidence, comfort, or peace of mind your product can offer.

• Does it bring people together? Highlight shared experiences, community, or a sense of belonging.

• Can customers make it their own? Show how your product fits their personal style, interests, or preferences.

• What does your brand stand for? Communicate the values, craftsmanship, or purpose behind what you sell.

The same product can offer different kinds of value to different customers. Understanding what matters to your audience can help you create marketing that goes beyond listing features.

Don't just explain what you're selling, give customers a reason to care.

MORE SALES CHANNELS. MORE SYSTEMS. MORE PROBLEMS?

As online retailers expand across multiple sales channels, the systems behind their operations need to keep up.

Managing product data, inventory, orders and supplier information across different platforms can get complicated, especially when those systems don't integrate out of the box. Without the right connections, teams may end up manually transferring data or maintaining the same information in multiple places.

ZELLIS Multisync is designed to bridge these gaps through tailored system integrations and automated data flows. Depending on your business requirements, this can include connecting ecommerce platforms with inventory and order management systems, marketplaces, suppliers and other business applications.

The goal is to get the systems you rely on working together, with integrations built around how your business actually operates.

Is sharing links on Facebook becoming a paid privilege? 🥲

Meta is expanding its test of limits on external link sharing for certain pages, with some accounts restricted to just two organic link posts per month unless they subscribe to a paid plan.

The change comes alongside the launch of Meta One for Business, Meta's subscription offering for creators and businesses. Some of its paid tiers include additional publishing features, including links in organic posts and Reels.

However, availability and benefits vary by plan, account and platform, and the Facebook link restriction is still being tested.

For businesses that use Facebook to drive traffic to their websites, blogs or product pages, this raises an important question: how much should your marketing strategy depend on a platform you don't control?

It may be time to rethink how social content works alongside your wider digital strategy, from creating content that delivers value directly in the feed to building traffic sources beyond social media.

What do you think? Should link sharing remain a basic feature, or is this a reasonable move towards paid business tools?

For years, getting products onto as many marketplaces as possible seemed like the obvious way to reach more customers. But with Australia’s marketplace landscape becoming more diverse, adding another sales channel doesn’t always mean adding meaningful growth.

Different marketplaces bring different audiences, category strengths, commercial models and operational requirements. What works for one retailer may not make sense for another, which makes choosing the right platforms just as important as having a marketplace strategy in the first place.

The real opportunity is being more selective. Where does your target customer actually shop? Which marketplaces are strongest for your category? Can your business support the fulfilment and compliance requirements? And will the channel deliver enough value to justify the additional complexity?

As Australian retailers continue to expand their marketplace offerings, understanding how the landscape is changing can help brands make more informed decisions about where to invest their resources.

These topics will be explored in an upcoming free webinar with New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, where ZELLIS CEO Tim Davies will take a closer look at the Australian online marketplace landscape and the opportunities available to New Zealand retailers and exporters.
