Does it matter who refers or recommends you?
Quick answer is yes.
This shows us as a business that we have succeeded to fulfill the expectations of the person referring us.
Why does this matter? When you ask someone how we went they usually say things like "yeah, good thanks." But when you refer us as a business it usually means they have really enjoyed the experience and although they may not say it, it sends a little warm feeling to us, that hey, they liked us, and they might point out something we did really well. Everyone gets anxiety and we sometimes need that pat on the back to show we are doing it right.
Even if it is a family member referring us, it means that they stand by us and with us in our venture, whatever the field of work.
For us, we regularly get they are just another drive school. Although from the outside it looks like we are, we are always trying to stay ahead of the game weather it be with our own personal development doing further education courses such as Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment, LIfe Skill Coaching courses, Trauma Counselling courses, our work in the disability sector, my original qualifications as a spray painter, or time in security all taught me lessons along with many more expoeriences and training.
Training when we came into the industry nearly 20 years ago, was great, life teaches us more things than we could ever imagine.
Wile these training programs assist us as a business to step away from the "norm" not every business puts in like we do, and we try to give back to our community whether it be through our defensive driving programs or other partnerships and sponsorship deals we do.
Our goal is for road safety and not just to pass drive tests. Our aims may be a little more different to what you may expect or think, but over my time we have had far more happy customers than unhappy ones, because we cannot please everyone, but we can change the way our industry teaches, or we can assist people make better life choices, on road or off it.
This has come from a couple of statements, comments etc that we have seen online. The most recent although may not have been meant the way it sounded, it made them sound like a keyboard warrior. The only thing is it made me make a comment and hope not only the person making the comment understand our position, but also show why we are different to the "norm" drive schools.
Oh, and a subtle message, I stand for my family and friends, in our own personal lives, and with our own very close to our heart battles right now, just like everyone else, But more importantly we fight hard as a business, in very uncertain and trying times. If nearly 20 years doesn't show that, then I am not sure what does.
