This is what excellent emissions look like- on the lower part of the display is a reading of 14.7 parts of air to one part of fuel ( molecules)-This is Air- fuel ratio ,the screen left is a 1 to zero ratio known as lambda hence the Greek sign, Stoichiometric is this precise measurement- stoichiometric is the holy grail target for ideal combustion.The top left of the is co or carbon monoxide which is 0- next on the right is hydrocarbons- which is unburnt fuel- the bad one for the ozone- again all zeros- in the middle of the screen has co2-carbon dioxide- a high percentage reflects excellent combustion & finally centre right is oxygen- the zero reflects no air leaks in the exhaust- this display also shows the catalytic converter working up to standards on a 20 year old car-- the numbers tell you the story this vehicle has excellent emissions & great fuel economy- does not get any better- M

Justification of parts pricing is getting tougher every year- on many occasions new parts for ten year & older cars are becoming obsolete - parts dealer know this & inflate prices to ridiculous levels- here I have a Nissan Dualis with a leaking plastic washer bottle- the fact is that safety certificate standards require a proper working washer jets also you want to clean your windscreen asap if mud or other foreign substance happens to block your vision especially at high speeds- however a washer bottle is only molded plastic- yes you can go secondhand or a aftermarket parts- but that all takes time - have a look at what it costs to replace a cheaply made plastic washer bottle- M

Turbo failure-
After pushing the limits on this turbo-we hit over 512 horsepower at the rear wheels which equates to around 600 horsepower at the flywheel-
This is a stock turbo-incredible- how much power you can get out of these things- but they have their limits-
A turbo impeller can spin between 120 000- over 200 000 revolutions per minute-
However, the question is why did this turbo fail? -
Oil starvation or possible overspinning- After reviewing the turbo flow map- it seems we pushed this turbo to its limit
we will tear it apart to confirm- M

I have started training myself in Can-bus,
Here @ Manny`s we scan every car that comes in for a service on many occasions we get multiple no communication can fault codes
So what does that mean?
Can stands for Controller Area Network- The modern vehicle is virtually a computer on wheels- with scores of computer modules- if a separate wiring routes to each module where still in place you would have thick wiring looms also there would be electronic interference corrupting data- So Can-bus was invented by Robert Bosch in the late eighties- where communication is passed through two twisted wires - each computer module has its own identification- the data is sent on the two wires in a hierarchy dominate identification- example your brake abs module would have preference over your audio- electric vehicles also have a similar system. each packet of data has its own unique code- which can actually be deciphered- from here we can dig further to find faulty modules which may cause communication to break down.

The second video shows a fault in the can-bus system which has activated fault codes in 3 modules- Traction control, Abs Anti-lock braking system & interestingly collision sensor- M

If a warning water light comes on your turbo - diesel - its because the fuel filter sensor is registering too much moisture has been caught in your fuel filter- but what is in the moisture? - not just water- here is a classic example of contaminates in a Iveco Daily fuel filter what actually grows in your fuel tank- yes there are living organisms which thrive & grow in your diesel fuel- due the excess moisture.
This is why I strongly recommend replacing a fuel filter with every service.

Clutch up-grade -Ford Focus
If your car`s engine has been modified, upgraded to produce more power, it is necessary to upgrade the clutch.
Here have up-graded the clutch on this 2013 Ford Focus- St
Too handle more power- the conversion from a dual mass to a single mass fly wheel which also happened to be lighter-
The result is balance of power with a clutch that can easily accept the extra torque & provide easy drivability for the driver.
Always, always tell your repairer of additional modifications done to your machine so the correct clutch can be matched to accept the extra power- M

Here My Apprentice young Cooper has bought himself a Ford Ranger Diesel with some basic mods.
He found the ride a bit unpredictable & erratic,
He then bought a modified waste-gate which we measured & bench tested to be around 30psi..
The results speak for themselves
watch the videos of him doing a burnout in 3rd gear & blowing away diesel competitors on the track- great view of fireworks also.
