MARLO TO HOME - DAY 26 - 19 July 2026

We really didn’t want out trip to end so we dragged it out with multiple stops at:

Bairnsdale
Rosedale
Yarragon
Officer

Our K’gari adventure wasn’t about ticking off destination, it was about embracing every moment. Sunrises over the beach, challenging tracks, ferries, swimming in crystal clear eaters, helping mates, getting stuck, laughing until it hurt, and creating memories that will be told around campfires for years. Every sandy kilometre reminded us that the best journeys aren’t the easiest—they’re the ones shared with great friends.

MARLO - DAY 25 - 18 July 2026

For our last full day of our holiday, we spent the morning exploring the popular Buchan Caves. It’s just unbelievable to think that these caves have existed for more than 5 million years. The incredible limestone formations, sparkling crystal decorations, and underground chambers are truly something special.

After exploring the caves, we headed to Lakes Entrance for lunch before treating ourselves to a lovely Devonshire Tea at the Chocky Sweet Box. It was producing its own chocolate but also had vintage wares and the best hot chocolate in Victoria.

We then made our way back to Marlo to walk the mouth where the Snowy Mountain River meets the Southern Ocean.

Ended our evening with dinner at the local Marlo Hotel. It certainly felt like the whole town had turned up for dinner that evening, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere for our last night of the trip.
