Michael J's Mechanical repairs was established in 1993. Michael J's specialises in all makes and models, aswell as maintanance, servicing, restoration, RWC and performance work for both cars and light trucks.

Another vs ute, this time round a Maloo. Arthur and Jim next door to us at Darebin Tyre & Service Centre built this Maloo for their cousin Jim.

Running a 355 stroker with a group A manifold, twin throttles and a solid roller camshaft. In control this time round was a haltech elite 2000. We had run the engine in around 1500kms ago and the car was back for some full throttle pulls.

Punching out a strong 325rwkw all the way to 7200rpm through a t56 gearbox. Makes for a good cruiser that definitely has trouble keeping traction through 1st and 2nd gear.

Arthur and Jim next door to us from Darebin Tyre & Service Centre built themselves a stout holden VS ute.

RUnning a 355 stroker with a hydrualic flat tappet camshaft, 4 barrel throttle body basically looking stock under bonnet. We had the car wired up to run a FuelTech Australia FT 450 with dual nano widebands.

All we did was press buttons on the keyboard and punched a very strong 307rwkw sining all the way to 7100rpm. Credit to the boys for building such a good car that we didn't even need to put a spanner on it.

We Dyno 2 engines in 1 day at Dandy Engines and we were blown away with the results. Both engines hit the target and more!!

We go through and talk about each engine combo and what they will be used for.

M1AMI needs no introduction to our page, we had marks FG GT in for some more upgrades as mark plans to do some circuit racing in the near future but also send it down the strip once again.

This time round we upgraded all the front end arms running all heavy duty superpro arms, mark also supplied us with adjustable front and rear sway bars that we fitted.

With drag racing looking to become big again in Victoria its good to see people hanging to get back out to the track. Marks previous best with this car was 11.3@134mph with a H pattern. Really looking forward to getting back out to the track and reaching marks goal of a 10 second pass with a manual.

Recently we had Tony's beautiful XY Fairmont in for a bunch of work.

Running a 393 cleveland stroker, the engine was always showing signs of oil on the spark plugs. We found the 4v heads hadn't had the port fillers (toungs) glued in. Only screwed in. So we pulled the heads off had them fully Reconditioned as well as a valve spring change to suit the camshaft correctly.

As we were putting the car together, it had orginally come in with a holley sniper, we ditched that and converted the car back to a carby. We bolted a 750 APD carb onto the manifold and converted the car back to an orginal looking engine bay.

Once we got onto the dyno and fine tuned everything we made a solid 293rwkw. Picking up over 25kw from the holley sniper up top and a massive 40kw through the mid range.

Tony drove the car and was blown away at how much better the car drove.
