π WHAT'S STOPPING A HORSE'S LEG GOING THROUGH THE SIDE OF THIS FLOAT?
These kickboards looked fine from the outside.
They also looked fine from the inside with the rubber in place.
Until we opened them up.
What we found was severe timber rot hidden behind the lining on BOTH sides of the float.
The kickboards had completely lost their structural strength and were literally breaking apart by hand.
The scary part?
The only thing left between the horse and the wheels was a thin outer skin with virtually no strength of its own.
If a horse kicked, slipped or put a leg through this area, there wasn't much left to stop it going straight through the side.
The biggest safety issues are usually the ones you can't see.
π HAVE YOU EVER LOOKED BEHIND THE RUBBER ON YOUR KICKBOARDS?
