Check this out - Significant Rainfall Increase Across Queensland
Over the next 7 days, a series of stationary surface troughs situated in a very moist and unstable atmosphere will generate widespread showers and storms, at times tending to steady rainfall across Queensland's south and southeast. Widespread rainfall totals (conservatively) between 30-80mm are expected within the outline, with isolated totals above 120mm possible in traditionally wetter locations.
Currently, the wettest weather is forecast to occur along the southeast coast (Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Burnett/Fraser Coasts as well as through Brisbane's Eastside), thanks to a persistent stream of showers tending to rain at times moves ashore. Whilst the full 100+mm won't fall on any one day, rainfall totals will quickly add up.
Heavy rainfall will also likely fall over the border across Northern NSW, particularly around areas like Lismore, Grafton and Coffs Harbour, looking at (conservatively) between 60-120mm in the next 7 days.
Widespread showers further inland will contribute to healthy rainfall across the Warrego, Maranoa, Southern Downs, Lockyer Valley, Central Highlands and Capricornia forecast districts as well, with models expecting a further 30-80mm over the next 5 days through these regions.
There are also signs rainfall will continue for another week into late October, however the signal remains a bit weak to comment on at this time. Enjoy this rainfall whilst it comes down! ~Josh
