Here are the results on our latest build:
271.5KW or 365 Horsepower to all four wheels on a conservative tune for 98 Octane fuel. As there was a large emphasis on making reliable numbers (to the grocery and at the track), the main limitation was the octane rating of the fuel. This leaves a lot of room to easily increase these numbers in the future without major work.

If you are interested in building your Subaru, feel free to contact us for a consultation regarding your aims and we can help tailor a solution to achieve your project goals.

Some key details about the build:
- Blouch Dominator 3.0XTR
- IAG Magnum Block
- Process West Verti-Cooler
- Kelford cams
- Brian Crower oversized valves, beehive springs and titanium retainers
- supporting fuel and reliability mods.

We have a few different categories in house that we use to recommend the importance of certain jobs. Safety is always top priority, followed by things such as reliability and later on performance. Especially if you plan to do some road trips this holiday season, it is always worth getting a check-up and an opinion on the condition of the safety components in your car.

The following two photos show two things that should definitely not be neglected. Front Control Arm bushings and brakes.
Cracked control arm bushings are an example of an item that when worn, may develop cracks, split and break apart. Bushings play a crucial role in providing a cushion between two metal parts, absorbing vibrations and noise and reducing overall harshness. When control arms bushings are worn or broken, there is excessive and uncontrolled movement in parts. You may experience uneven tyre wear, vibrations and shaking, poor handling and steering response as well as excessive vibrations during braking. Bushings are an essential component when viewing a car from a safety standpoint.

p.s look at the size of the disc rotor relative to that bloke with the dirty mo's head. They are absolutely massive. 10 points for who can guess what car uses rotors that size.

Last friday the workshop was closed for a long awaited Subi Motors Track Day.
The boys and extended Subi Motors fam have been hard at work after-hours building a project with the goal of being a fun drift car. no doubt if you have had your car serviced here, you would have seen the blue gf8 tucked away patiently awaiting its day. If you would have popped your head in there you would have caught a glimpse.

This project was an experiment on what we can do in house with our knowledge and tools and to then put it to the test on the track.
There was a lot of learning, unforseen challenges, great problem solving and an impressive team effort. The car had a few issues which were quickly resolved and overall performed better than expected. Overall the test day was a success.

We not only work on these cars, we own them, love them, fix them and improve them. We are always looking for new avenues that allow us to expand our knowledge and translate that into better services offered. There is no better way to conduct research and development than by gathering first hand data yourself, so that is what we did and loved every bit of it.

Watch this space for a few sneak peeks of how the car performed and if you have any ideas on what work we conducted to get this thing to slide well, post it in the comments!

For the lovers of the 08-14 WRX.
Typical for these models as they age is for the firewall to crack at the clutch master cylinder mating surface, especially when running a heavier duty clutch or when the clutch is on the way out and requires greater forces to depress the pedal. These greater forces through time cause hairline cracks that grow with repeated depressions of the pedal.

If you are experiencing a squeaky clutch and or sloppy pedal feel, it is likely that you will find this issue present. Due to the weak firewall design in these models, welding a reinforcement plate onto the firewall is the most economical approach to resolving the issue and much cheaper than a full firewall strip, firewall repair, paint and labour.

Is your car not running like its usual self? Smiles per gallon out of whack?
Your subie, (just like every healthy relationship) requires attention. If you have not been giving it the love it needs its ok. we can help you.
Dirty sensors cant sense what they need to in order to send the right signals. Just like wearing dirty glasses (or having too many beers) makes it harder to see whats in front of you.
An important part of our regular servicing is cleaning sensors that measure air flow, temperature and pressure to ensure optimal air fuel ratios.
See the photos of a visual representation of what this post is all about.

All that glitters ain't gold. Once wear metals start accumulating and circulating, essential oil passageways may become blocked and bearing wear may exponentially accelerate.
Sometimes when a part fails, the most obvious course of action is to just replace that part. We always make sure to look at the system as a whole to ensure that the root cause is addressed before replacing the failed part. With oiling issues, once symptoms are present, it can be that further damage has already happened and replacing the one failed component means youl be back saying hello not too soon after.
Regularly checking your oil is a small time investment for massive savings in the long term. If you have been made aware of leaks, running ethanol or are pushing any type of power this is even more important.
Help us help you. Check your oil

Rated to 850 bhp, this IAG Stage 2.7 Magnum block will easily deliver on this customers goals with some room to grow.
As with any bigger power build, increasing power is not the only focal point. A carefully planned approach is essential to ensure that no single component is maxed out and each component is working within its efficient operating range. This build will be just as comfortable on a grocery run as it is through a 3rd gear full throttle sweeping right-hander.

Paired with a few simple additions, the subaru AWD system is surprisingly capable when taken off the tarmac. Increasing the clearance with a good quality lift kit and some solid All-Terrain tyres will allow you to fully utilise the modern features such as X-mode when descending or ascending steep terrain. #4220

Spark Plugs! When tracking down driveability gremlins, the spark plugs can shed light as to how the engine is operating as a system. This customers car had some intermittent misfiring under acceleration. Just another clue in solving this puzzle.
