Don't panic if the cable end looks a bit small for the opening in the slide.

Lectron slides are machined to take a few different cable-end sizes so just because the end is smaller it doesn't mean you've got the wrong cable.

As long as it's seated properly and the throttle pulls and snaps back smoothly you're all good.

"Do I need this?"

Factory carbs are built as a compromise to suit a massive range of bikes and climates straight out of the gate. They are rarely dialled in perfectly for your specific engine.

If you are constantly fighting a bottom-end bog, hesitation, or having to pull the bowl off every time the weather changes, it is time to look at an upgrade.

Moving to a metering rod setup feeds the engine based on actual airflow demand, meaning:
- Crisp throttle response
- Consistent power from sea level up into the hills
- Zero time spent swapping brass jets
- Tractable power exactly where you need it
