VF Clubsport in for a look into poor running at high RPM.

Once on the dyno, it was clear the spark was being blown out above 4,000 RPM. This wasn’t initially suspected, as the owner had recently replaced the plugs and leads.

Sure enough, the iridium plugs had no tips left!

In went a set of TR6 plugs, followed by a full dyno tune.

Now making a healthy 387hp, with the only change from factory being an OTR intake!

This Navara NP300 came in to rectify a few EGR issues and for a full custom dyno remap.

Initial dyno testing revealed the vehicle had already been tuned — but the data showed a mismatch between commanded and actual boost, along with a dangerously rich AFR of 14–15:1.

We remapped the vehicle to deliver the boost it was actually commanding, while bringing the AFR back into a safe range.

Just because a vehicle has been “tuned” doesn’t mean it’s been tuned correctly. This is exactly why proper dyno testing and data logging are so important!

Jaiden’s FG XR6T returned for a boost controller, upgraded actuator, and retune.

The previous boost tee setup wasn’t controlling boost, so it was removed and tuned to gate pressure. This time around we installed a GFB electronic controller and actuator, but the customer supplied unit wasn’t as advertised (not adjustable and actually a 16–17psi spring, not 9–10psi).

Despite some top-end drop-off in boost due to turbo size, the new setup delivers a much stronger power curve, picking up 50–80hp across most of the rev range.

This 2023 Toyota Hilux came in for a remap once a 3” DPF back exhaust and larger front mount intercooler was fitted.

This vehicle went from 154hp and 420nm of torque up to 202hp and 530nm torque!

✅ +110nm torque (⬆️ 26%)
✅ +48.6hp (⬆️ 32%)

Few of the cars that have been through the Karratha workshop. All having the same cam and lifter package using a street friendly yet powerful camshaft.

These cars were all 6.0L manuals and produced very repeatable results ranging between 434hp to 438hp.
