Last weekend we had our second working bee for the year and it was a huge success. We had a great turnout, and everyone got stuck into the work early on that really made a big difference by the end of the day.
The tyre walls on four corners were ripped out then dirt recovered from them, and then the recently acquired traffic barriers were all installed. This is bloody hard work, and we’re very grateful for everyone that was involved in this hard labour-intensive task.
More track work was also completed, with drainage, track widening and grading carried out.
Trev also had a crew cutting down and reclaiming growth around the track, then carrying out burn offs.
The recovery dolly also received some modifications from Rod to make it more user friendly.
We’d like to acknowledge three members that haven't been round the club for very long that made a massive difference on the weekend.
Firstly, Garry Millet for his generosity in providing an 8tonne excavator along with Ryan operating it, a bobcat with the 4 in 1 blade and articulating loader that Garry operated all day.
You made a huge difference to how much we were able to achieve on the weekend Garry! Thank you very much mate.
Dwight Cheesman also put in a huge effort providing his 1 tonne excavator for the weekend and was onsite at 12 noon Friday pulling out tyres then as the weekend progressed got stuck into drainage around the track with the little 1 tonner kept busy till late Sunday afternoon. Great work Cheesy! Thanks mate
We’d also like to acknowledge Geoff Blackwood for operating the telehandler that Danny Caelli generously provided. Geoff also picked up a heap of pipes for us on the way Saturday morning. He kept that machine very busy all day and also made a massive difference in how much we were able to achieve on Saturday. Thank you very much Geoff and Danny!
Also, thanks to all these legends! as we mentioned before this weekend was hard yakka and you all put in a huge effort for our club!
