BYD Atto 1 Essential: Is Australia's Cheapest EV Safe?

Small, cheap car = meatball in a crash? Not this one. 🚗💥

The BYD Atto 1's Blade Battery is one solid block across the entire floor. Hit a pole side-on and it acts as a brace, stopping the intrusion before it reaches the cabin. 5-star ANCAP rating.

Beyond EV has cracked another milestone! 🎉 🎉

When I started this channel in mid-2024 I was making videos to share knowledge and generate discussion around New Energy Vehicles in Australia. I honestly had no idea if anyone would watch. Turns out you did!

A lot has changed since then but the goal is still the same. Helping viewers not just from Australia but all around the world, navigate and gain a real understanding of all the new brands, new products, and new technology entering the market and helping them make an informed call on what's probably the 2nd biggest purchase they'll ever make.

I just want to say THANK YOU.

To every viewer, every commenter, to the OEMs, to the various sponsors I have had, and to my new friends that I have met along the way. None of this happens without your input and ongoing support and it is greatly appcrediated!

Only 9 Available for Purchase! 🤯

The Lexus RZ600e was on display for the first time at PAX Australia Gaming Expo alongside the Assetto Corsa EVO Racing Simulator that this car will feature in.

Lexus Australia invited me along to take a closer look and have a crack at driving it around Bathurst on the racing Sim (spoiler: I was terrible at it 😂)

Melbourne Victory 🤝 BYD Australia

BYD x MVFC Partnership Launch last night!

I am a massive Victory tragic and a 15 year Gold Member, so to be there to see Australias biggest New Energy Vehicle brand partner up with Australia's biggest Football Club was something pretty special for me.

All eyes now move to this Saturday for the Australia Cup Final! BYD will be on the front of the Melbourne Victory shirt as the team go out to win their 3rd Australia Cup!

Following the Four Corners Report on ABC last week, Chris from All Terrain Action and I jumped on a call to record what we saw and what we thought of it.

That call was uploaded to YouTube and is currently the 𝟓𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 this week.

Thanks to everyone who watched, commented and hyped up the video, and thanks to Chris for the great conversation.

You can now sit inside a car that hasn't even hit dealerships in Australia yet. From your couch, from your workplace, anywhere in the world.

This is Beyond EV's first New Energy Vehicle 360° VR experience, and we're starting with the all-new LEPAS L6 EV.

You control the view. Swipe on mobile, click and drag on desktop, or put on a VR headset for true-to-life scale. Panoramic roof, centre console, ambient lighting, floating pebble speakers. Every angle, wherever you are in the world.

Captured on the all-new DJI Osmo 360 II at the Lepas Australia Preview Event.

My first ever tech review is live on Beyond EV Technology: the all new DJI Osmo 360 II, on sale in Australia as of yesterday.

A massive thank you to DJI for the loan. I've had it for the past couple of weeks and put it through its paces ahead of a busy month of EV events.

The original Osmo 360 has been a staple in my camera bag for a while now, so in this review I dig into what the second gen actually improves, how it holds up on a car shoot, and whether it's worth the upgrade.

Also, keep an eye out for a series of 360 VR experiences I'll be producing over the coming weeks. A whole new way to step inside and experience New Energy Vehicles from the comfort of your own home.
