Every now and then you come across a build that completely blows your mind… and this is definitely one of them!
We had the pleasure of meeting one of our customers, John Ackroyd, at Cooly Rocks On a few weeks ago. John later sent us these photos of his incredible ‘32 Roadster and one of the wildest tow idea we’ve ever seen.
It’s running a 350 Chev, TH350 auto, and an old Corvette independent rear end with four-wheel disc brakes.
But the airplane toy hauler is next level.
Built from a genuine 1938 DC-3 aircraft that served with the New Zealand Air Force during WWII, it’s been transformed into an unbelievable trailer. It sleeps four, has a kitchen and bathroom, and when the roadster’s out, the cockpit folds down into a double bed! Best of all, John built it so he could get the Roadster to shows without worrying about getting caught in the rain.
To finish it off, the amazing artwork of his wife Lady Jay was hand-painted by Auckland artist Stace
You can spend years around hot rods and never see anything like this.
