From “It Can’t Be Done” to a Clean Factory-Style Upgrade 🚗📱

This 2018 Toyota Yaris Aus Line came to The Custom Car Lab with a challenge.

Unlike the more common Yaris setup, this Aus Line was fitted with the round hazard-light switch, while the available upgrade fascia was designed around a different rectangular switch setup. That meant this wasn’t going to be a simple plug-and-play head-unit replacement.

The customer had already approached other installers and was told the upgrade couldn’t be done.

We saw it a little differently. 🔧

Instead of turning the job away, we spent the extra time working out a solution that would give the customer the modern system they wanted while keeping the installation looking clean, integrated and factory-style.

And here’s the result. 👇

From the original small factory display to a modern touchscreen system featuring Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Bluetooth music and calls, built-in DSP audio controls, reverse-camera integration and much more.

For us, it’s not just about fitting a screen. Sometimes the real job is finding a solution when the straightforward option doesn’t exist.

Another happy customer and another unique upgrade completed by The Custom Car Lab. ❤️
