We Had Grease Garage Ben's Twin Turbo Triton In For A Tune!
This has a dead stock 3L Magna motor in it 😱😱😱

This very unique burnout car run with the old school Haltech Platinum 2000 Ecu, Blast From The Past.

From there everything else is custom and unique!
Fire extinguisher as an Intake, External wastegate on the intake pipe not the exhaust manifolds 😱
Twin Gt35 ish sized china turbo's

On wastegate pressure boost was built 100% linear to roughly 11psi and it made a smidge over 300 at 7500rpm

From there I was given the go ahead to send boost to 15psi but not ramp it in too hard.
So with a fair bit left in the mid range I ramped it in a smidge harder/earlier then let it climb to 15psi by limiter and it manages to reel off 360HP & 790NM
(Keep in mind this has a 4.9 rear diff ratio multiplying the torque)

What a weapon!
Cannot wait till they slap the forged motor they have for this in it and send it to the moon!

Jack's VX L67 back in for a touch up tune after the next round of mods.

This time he has moved the IAT Sensor to the Lim, a bigger aftermarket U-Bend & 92mm Throttle body!

He already had a W2A intercooler setup and 3" Pulley.

Intake Air Temps were hitting 104 degrees by the end of the run so we decided to leave that pulley on instead of stepping up to the 2.55" pulley he brought a long.

Jack plans to put a camshaft in it towards the end of the year so that will help the entire setup breathe a bit.

We also found the Boost Solenoid had not been bypassed so we quickly did that for him before we ran it up.

Before it used to make 266HP & 422NM
Now its sitting at 308HP & 486NM πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ’ͺ

We had Zach's VX L67 Commodore in for a cam package and tune to suit.

Previously Zach had A2A intercooled it and then got us to wire in a Haltech 750 and tune it to suit.
Something in the piping wasn't happy is it only made 196HP (made 240 before the a2a) and power dropped off hard after a certain rpm.

He has also since installed a full spooled 3.46 diff.

After we installed the Mace Stage 2 L67 Cam Package kit we got it onto the dyno to get the tune all sorted!

Ended up at 287HP & 549NM of torque all with a 3.4" Pulley!
Great result for now till he gets a machined snoutx injector upgrade and a smaller pulley and will shoot for 300+ πŸ‘Œ

Shanksy's Builds RB30/26 R31 Skyline ... what a weapon!

This time around we headed to his brothers workshop Modified Diesel Performance to use his Hub Dyno to get the E-85 tune sorted turning it up!

First off we ran it up on 98 to compare my Mainline Chassis Dyno against a Mainline Hub Dyno..
Granted my Dyno was semi broken at the time and held the car back...
But on mine it made 477HP, on the hubs it made 533HP! Almost a 60HP difference! Both at 20psi! The converter was flaring to 5500rpm here with a limiter of 7500 rpm.

After that we drained the tank & filled it up with E-85. Calibrated the Ethanol Flex Fuel Sensor in the Link Xtreme G4X Ecu and then we got onto tuning.

We ended up around 30psi and 8000rpm as the converter was just far too loose and being pushed through too much. It was stalling to 6500rpm now and a limiter of 8000rpm didn't leave much. (Check out the video in the comments, can really hear that converter get pushed).

Ended up making 771HP & an absolute staggering 1359NM of Torque! Absolutely insane!
Would be an easy 900+HP combo with a manual behind it!

Test drive down at the local strip and this comes onto boost hard & fast and feels every bit of power it put down!

Connor Brought his WH Stato back in for a touch up tune after another round of mods!

- 2.55" Pulley βœ…οΈ
- YELLA TERRA Tower Of Terra W2A βœ…οΈ
- 3L Expansion Tank βœ…οΈ
- Brushworks Slick Sixes LightWeight Rotor's βœ…οΈ
- 92mm Throttle Body βœ…οΈ
- Ported Charger & U-Bend βœ…οΈ

With the converter unlock previously it made 266HP & 562Nm at roughly 10psi

Now it makes a staggering 324HP & 715NM of Torque at roughly 15psi of boost!

22% HP Gain & 27% Increase in Torque!

This will feel like a completely different car!

Sadly his IAT's still reach over 110Β°c by the end of the run, but for now this is a great increase from before!

We also played around with his idle a bit to get the natural camshaft upgrade doing its thing!

We had Brads Manual VY Ute back in for a touch up tune after he had some Pacemaker Extractors, Cats a dual 2.5" Catback fitted.

Previously we installed a Mace Stage 2 Cam Package and tune it with the factory headers, cat & single aftermarket catback.
It threw out a very dissapointing 180HP..

This time round tho it picked up and ended where it should, 232HP & 395NM through 3.46 diff gears.

The last picture shows the dyno sheet with the before and after overlay with the exhaust difference's!

Should feel like a completely different weapon now!

The team at Callaghan Racing brought their VS Proddy in to rip out the old ecu setup and wire in a Haltech 750 with LS coil conversion.

Along the way we found the coolant temp sensor was broken and someone previously had grinded off the 18x teeth on the Harmonic Balancer.
We had both in stock so we replaced them and now operating as they should be.

We mounted the Haltech 750 and LS coils in a servicable spot that is also out of water and muds way ready for if need be in the future.

Once we had it all up and running we chucked it onto the Dyno to get the tune sorted to hopefully win some meets!

Ended up at 228HP in 4th gear and in 2nd gear it spun up 204HP.

Looking at the powerband & power output we suspect it has a small camshaft in it.

Hopefully in the future this will see some more compression and a bigger camshaft in it and will hopefully end up around the 270-280hp mark!

Branden brought his VX Top Swapped Commodore back in for the next round of mods!
This had previously had a Haltech 750 installed by us previously and made 265HP & 444NM.

New list of mods

- Mace Stage 2 Cam Package βœ…οΈ
- Weld Some Beads On Intercooler Piping βœ…οΈ
- New 3.7 L*D Diff βœ…οΈ
- Walbro 255 Pump Upgrade βœ…οΈ
- Clean The Engine Bay βœ…οΈ
- Fix Brake Lights βœ…οΈ
- Fix Stereo Not Turning On βœ…οΈ
-Speedo Calibration βœ…οΈ

After we got all the street manners dialled in and the speedo reading correct was onto the power runs.

With the converter unlocked it ended up at 290HP & 647NM
Massive increase from before which you can see in the last picture that we have put the overlays on.

Keep in mind this is also 3.07 ratio to 3.7 ratio diff, multiplies the torque readout and drops the power readout by a bit!

Should be a completely different animal to drive now!

This is a good example of why you don't drive/thrash an untuned car especially when it has the wrong parts in it and is misfiring.
Also, don't let your mates thrash your car, especially when it isn't running right.

Bit of a long post but worth the read.

Kyle got us to redo his turbo setup in his VX commodore.
As can be seen in the 1st picture it had a front mounted turbo setup, it used to overheat all the time and cook all the wiring and plumbing.

Upon teardown I found the incorrect spark plugs installed, not gapped correctly and 1 mismatched plug.
This car has changed hands a few times since it was turbo converted, never been tuned and thrashed across all owners.

Regardless the works carried out were..

- Install Customer Supplied Turbo Kit βœ…οΈ
- Remake Intercooler Piping Kit To Suit βœ…οΈ
- Remake Dump Pipe βœ…οΈ
- Make A Screamer Pipe βœ…οΈ
- Supply & Fit New Rocker Covers With Breathers βœ…οΈ
- Setup Catch Can Setup βœ…οΈ
- Relocate Battery To Boot βœ…οΈ
- Extend Wiring To Suit Reverse Plenum βœ…οΈ
- Supply & Install Factory Thermo Setup βœ…οΈ
- Make An Intake Pipe & Pod Filter βœ…οΈ

Round 1 on the dyno didn't work out as the china wastegate failed almost immediately, went from holding 4psi to skyrocketing to 18psi also had a tyre go flat.

New Pulsar Wastegate was supplied & we then had to remake the screamer pipe to suit.
We supplied and fitted a new rear tyre to suit.

Back on the dyno and this is where it all looked promising till it didn't.....

1st run it held 9.35psi perfect and was stupid rich around 10.1 afr and it still made great power almost matching it before when at 18psi...
We went to lean it out a bit, still rich at 10.8 afr and as it got onto boost and levelled out it all went bad...

Motor made a huge knock/rattle and then locks up once I shut it off...
Overlooking the log, Fueling was safe and ignition timing was at 8 degrees...
I am 110% confident this had nothing to do on the tune side, it was plenty safe at this point.

Unfortunately this comes down to the condition of the motor being hurt from being thrashed around untuned and misfiring its head off (which I personally witnessed leaving my house when the customer had his mate driving the car).

This is why I always preach that a Tune is the MOST IMPORTANT part of any build & to then compound on that, a tune can only be as good as the quality of parts installed and the pre existing condition of the motor.

Hopefully the customer is keen to keep going with the car and can source another L67 bottom end, swap it out and then finish this tune and get it to the spot a Turbo Ecotec should be now the parts are whats needed for a decent build.
