As of 1st July, all hospitality businesses need to tell their consumers, where they get their seafood. Support WA seafood producers and buy local.

🦐🐟🦀You will notice the menu will look a little different at your fave cafe, pub, food truck, restaurant and other hospitality venues!

From today they're required to tell you where the seafood they serve is from - whether it's Australian, imported or a mix of both.

The aim is to help you make informed choices about the seafood dishes you order and how you're spending your money.

This change is Australia-wide and applies to any hospitality venue that sells seafood, including restaurants, cafés, takeaways, clubs, pubs, hotels, market stalls and food trucks.

Only 3 weeks away! See ArbWest's post below - all of the information you need to get behind National Tree Day is included in the post. We certainly need more urban canopy and the only way to do that is to PLANT MORE TREES!!

Don't forget National Tree Day!
This year, Schools Tree Day is on Friday 24 July, followed by National Tree Day on Sunday 26 July – a great opportunity for schools, families, councils and communities to get involved in creating a greener Western Australia.

Rember, planting is only the beginning. The biggest environmental benefits come from protecting and caring for existing mature trees, while planting the next generation to grow our urban canopy.

Thinking about planting a tree at home? Check whether your local council is participating in the Let's Grow Treebate Program, which offers rebates to help residents plant trees and grow Perth's canopy.

Community groups and schools can also help grow Perth's urban canopy through the State Government's Let's Grow Grants program. With $10 million in funding over four years, the program supports practical greening projects such as planting trees in schools, parks, community spaces, streetscapes and other urban areas, helping create cooler, leafier and more liveable neighbourhoods.

Need advice on selecting the right tree or caring for an existing one? Visit the Professional Consultants section of the ArbWest website to find a qualified arboricultural consultant.

Looking for quality trees? Our partner Ellenby Tree Farm have one of Western Australia's largest selections of advanced and native trees, helping create greener suburbs one tree at a time.

Together, we can plant wisely, protect what we already have, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. 🌿

Great article from The Conversation.

"We desperately need skilled workers. So why is vocational education treated as the ‘back‑up plan’ for school leavers?"

For those of you who have worked in the VET sector for a while, you would have been annoyed when people talked about going to university as being 'superior' than doing a VET qualification. Even though you know that the majority of occupations out there are supported by VET qualifications (in fact, written for those occupations).

So, its good to read an article that is pro-VET and explains why it is important. We need more articles like this - because there are still so many misconceptions out there about VET being the 'poor cousin' to Universities.

When it comes to life after Year 12, the media and schools tend to focus on ATARs and university study.
