🚗 From Loss of Power to a No-Start Condition
A customer brought their vehicle to our workshop after it suddenly refused to start.
Before the breakdown occurred, the vehicle had been experiencing a noticeable loss of power. Acceleration felt sluggish, engine performance had dropped, and the vehicle no longer drove the way it should.
When the vehicle arrived at our workshop, the engine would crank normally but would not start.
Our technicians carried out a thorough diagnostic inspection and quickly identified the root cause.
⚠️ Severely Worn and Stretched Timing Chain
Further inspection revealed that the timing chain, chain guides, and hydraulic tensioner had suffered significant wear. The stretched timing chain had caused the camshaft and crankshaft timing to move out of specification.
The loss of engine power was the first warning sign.
Eventually, the timing became so far out of alignment that the engine could no longer start.
At JCEWA Auto Service, we specialise in diagnosing the real cause of engine performance problems and carrying out professional repairs to keep your vehicle running at its best.
