I still don’t think this one ever got the recognition it deserved 🔵

While everyone talks about the R32 and R34 GT-Rs, the R33 often gets overlooked. That’s a shame, because cars like this remind you just how special they really are. This isn’t your average R33 either—it’s an LM Limited V-Spec, one of just 102 V-Spec LM Limiteds produced to celebrate Nissan’s Le Mans program.

Champion Blue, subtle LM-specific details, and everything that makes these cars so sought after today. It was a privilege to spend a few days bringing it back to the standard it deserved.

TL50 Tuesday 👌

These Tickford TL50s don't come around very often, especially in the condition this one arrived in.

Based on the AU Fairlane, the TL50 was the luxury flagship of Tickford's T-Series range, combining long-wheelbase comfort with genuine V8 performance. Depending on the series, they came with either the 5.0L Windsor or, in the later T3 cars, the hand-assembled 5.6L stroker Windsor that has become highly sought after today. Production numbers were low from new, making them one of the rarer Australian performance Fords.

This one underwent a full restoration a while back, and it was a privilege to carry out the final detail before it headed home.

Why is it called the Kenmeri?

The nickname comes from one of Nissan’s advertising campaigns in the early 1970s, which featured a young couple named Ken and Mary travelling around Japan in the Skyline. The campaign became so popular that enthusiasts combined their names, and the C110 Skyline has been known as the Kenmeri ever since.

More than 50 years later, it’s still one of the most recognisable and desirable Japanese classics ever built. Timeless styling, incredible heritage, and a car that helped cement the Skyline legend.

Rare cars are nothing unusual around here, but this one is rare on another level.

This is an Innocenti Mini, and we’re told it’s one of only two currently in Australia.

At first glance it may look like a familiar classic Mini, but the closer you get, the more differences you notice. Built in Italy by Innocenti, it has its own styling, badging, interior details and Italian character, while still retaining everything people love about the original Mini.

We recently had the opportunity to give this little car a full detail, carefully working through the paintwork, brightwork and finer areas to present it at its best without taking away from its originality.

Regardless of the exact number remaining in Australia, there’s no denying this is an incredibly uncommon car and something most people will probably never see in person.

It will also be offered for sale, giving someone the opportunity to own a genuinely unusual piece of Mini and Italian motoring history.

Not every day you get an Australian-delivered Mitsubishi Evo IX in Amethyst Black Pearl through the workshop.

This factory colour is a rarely seen combination on an Australian-delivered Evo IX, and when the light catches it, you can see exactly why it’s such a standout.

My role was carrying out the final detail and machine polish before the car heads away for full PPF. It’s always rewarding being involved in builds like this, and a big credit has to go to the team at Kustom Rides for producing such an outstanding finish. The paintwork was a pleasure to refine, and we’re looking forward to seeing the car once it’s protected and fully assembled.

The engine bay is still a work in progress, but from what we’ve seen so far, it’s shaping up to be something pretty special. We can’t wait to see the completed build.
