🔧 OLD SCHOOL HILUX GETTING SOME TLC! 🛻💪

This 1994 Toyota Hilux came into RB Mechanical & Performance after being recently purchased by a customer for their son’s first car!

Before handing over the keys, they wanted to make sure it was mechanically sound, serviced and ready for the road! ✅

🔧 Replaced the worn steering centre rod

🔧 Checked and adjusted drive belts

At over 30 years old, this Hilux still has plenty of life left in it! A little preventative maintenance goes a long way, especially when it’s going to be someone’s first car.

This 6.0L V8 Holden Crewman came in for a sump gasket replacement.

But for us, it’s not just about replacing a gasket and bolting everything back together.

✅ Removed and thoroughly cleaned the sump inside and out
✅ Removed built-up oil residue and grime
✅ Replaced the leaking sump gasket
✅ Reassembled everything with care and attention to detail

Doing a service right means more than just changing the oil. 🔧

When a vehicle comes in for a service, we take the time to properly inspect it — including removing all four wheels so we can thoroughly check the brakes, suspension, and general condition of the vehicle.

This also allows us to rotate the tyres where needed, helping promote even wear and get the most life out of them.

A proper service is about giving customers the right information about their car, so they can stay on top of maintenance and keep themselves and their families safe on the road.

🔧 IT’S MORE THAN JUST AN OIL CHANGE! 🚗

We had this Nissan Navara in for a routine service, and during our standard safety checks, we found something worth sharing!

As part of every service, we check tyre pressures and inspect the overall condition of the tyres.

🛞 Both rear tyres were sitting at just 20 PSI!

The interesting part? With the vehicle sitting on the ground, you wouldn’t even know they were that low just by looking at them!

🔩 One tyre had a bolt clearly visible in the tread.

💦 The other had a leak that wasn’t visible until we sprayed it with soapy water and watched for bubbles.

⚠️ Why are correct tyre pressures so important?

✅ Helps prevent uneven and premature tyre wear
✅ Improves handling and braking performance
✅ Reduces unnecessary fuel consumption
✅ Helps prevent excessive heat build-up and tyre failure
✅ Most importantly, helps keep you and your passengers safe!
