Going to have to sharpen up the pencil again to quote this one up 😉, Blown alky LS we suspected had a moving reluctor wheel, which now upon inspection it did, customer said it started running s**t again at powercruise and then wouldn't start so the plan was to pull the crank and fix reluctor wheel for a quick turn around BUT... Another win for the SBE brigade 🙃, although this thing was built with a lot of good gear, iron block, forged pistons and rods etc, the factory cast crank which was retained could not handle the heat! Sorry customer but there is a few more number$ coming your way 😬!

A cool car and a cool story, we built the engine in this cool old XB for owner Guy about 15 years ago as an NA streeter with cast 2V heads which he used and flogged around in for a few years before adding a big solid roller cam, alloy 3v style heads and this huge V7 Ysi Vortech supercharger and a blow thru E85 carby 🤯! He has brang it in to us to do a converter change and tune up on the dyno, now keep in mind thus blower is capable of 1400hp, and the 15 year old bottom end is still only a factory 2 bolt Cleveland block with ARP studs but luckily we did half grout fill for the S**t cast steel crank I beam rod forged piston 408ci stroker kit way back when. So hey let's give her a tune up and see what it does, with moderate timing at 6900rpm and 8 lbs boost she cranked out an easy 708rwhp, with plenty more left in the setup but how much will a 2 bolt block take!?? What a wild car and setup and so cool to see one of our old engines still going strong and doing things beyond expectations 😎💪👌.

Want some serious performance from your Holden 6? Starting with the awesome alloy YELLA TERRA 12 port head we rework it and put our port job into it and gain 30cfm over the already good as cast flow numbers , on this beutiful HR Holden build we also combined it with our custom solid camshaft profile with .550 lift (which has now done plenty of proven street kms) and matching valvetrain components, the bottom end was fully machined, torque plate honed and balanced in house with Forged pistons and conrods, and once this combo was fitted to the car we tuned it up with the triple Weber 45s and it produced 214rwhp on the 202 combo though the auto trans and 2800 stall converter. Strong 💪 😎!!

Some cool shots from last weekends East coast Nationals, bit of a late post but been a hectic week, after a first round win in SHKDWN after one hell of a race over the Wheeler family racing dragster from Qld by 4 thousandths of a second, this meeting I was going to work on my reaction times after being in the .1s lately and unfortunately for the Wheeler team after we pulled a .018 reaction time it was enough to secure the win after Peter ran a usually pretty unbeatable 6.831 on a 6.83 dial in but our reaction time clinched it. We were due to face Simon Madigan in the XA falcon for round 2 which would have been a great race and always fun running another sedan but upon finding a head gasket starting to leak in the pits decided to pull out and not risk any more damage/ or putting fluid on the track. Was still an awesome meeting and as always big thanks to the crew for their efforts 🙏. Time to pull the engine for a long overdue freshen up now and return next year 👍😎.
