🍓🎉 When your clients spoil you rotten…

Thanks to two of our lovely clients for:
1️⃣ A Powerball ticket — because apparently they reckon early retirement is on the cards.
2️⃣ A jar of homemade strawberry jam — because nothing says “thanks for looking after my car” like a gourmet treat.

And just so you know — if you can’t find me at the workshop, it means the ticket hit. I’ll be on a yacht somewhere, asking the butler to spread strawberry jam on my scone while I practise my “I’m too rich for this” laugh.

Massive thanks to all our lovely clients — you keep the workshop running, our spirits high, and our luxury‑yacht dreams alive. 🛠️❤️⛵🍞

So… apparently the Facebook algorithm has decided Go Automotive is less a mechanics workshop and more a Supercars fan club with a side hustle in oil changes. (Not entirely sure it's got it wrong! 😁

Which means — unfortunately — we absolutely cannot talk about the weekend we definitely didn’t spend living our best lives in the Total Energies corporate suite on the Gold Coast.

We will NOT be mentioning:

The pit walk we didn’t do
The grid we weren’t standing on at race start
The drivers we didn’t meet
The food and drinks we didn’t enjoy all day
The air‑conditioning we weren’t hiding in while everyone else played Slip ’n’ Slide in the mud

And we certainly won’t be declaring Jarrod Hughes our new favourite driver.
Nope. Not here. Not on this page. Facebook has spoken.

But if you see me in person — at the workshop, at the servo, at Woolies, anywhere — feel free to ask about the weekend I’m not allowed to talk about online. I’ll happily overshare the whole story where the algorithm can’t dob me in.

Until then, we’ll stick to spark plugs, timing belts, and the occasional lemon‑powered bribe.

Go’s Time‑Travelling Toolbox: The Can‑Opener That Fought Back!

Check this out! Today’s blast from the past is the old-school can opener — the type you jab into the tin, wiggle around the edge, and hope the can doesn’t bite you first.

Before fancy ring‑pulls and electric openers, this little beast demanded commitment. You didn’t just open a can… you earned it. One wrong move and suddenly you’re performing interpretive dance in the kitchen while holding a half‑opened tin of peaches.

This relic comes straight from an era when tools were simple, tough, and slightly dangerous — just how they liked it.
Perfect for anyone who wants dinner and a forearm workout.

When your engine gets a drink of fresh oil, it’s basically having a spa day.
Clean oil keeps everything running smoother, cooler, and quieter — and your car will thank you with fewer surprises on the road.

A quick top‑up like this helps protect the engine from wear, improves performance, and keeps those moving parts from turning into a metal‑on‑metal horror show.

So if you haven’t checked your oil in a while, consider this your friendly nudge. Your engine deserves a bit of TLC too.

📺 SUNDAY – Dawn to Dusk, Telly Time

Bathurst Sunday — the biggest race of the year.

The day Australia collectively decides the couch is the best seat in the house.

We’ll be parked in front of the telly from dawn to dusk — snacks ready, drinks cold, remote in hand, and absolutely no intention of moving unless the house catches fire… and even then we’d think about it. If you’re not excited yet, check your pulse. We’re counting down the hours.

The Mountain is awake. The engines are angry. The biggest race of the calendar is ON. We are watching every lap.

🛠️ SATURDAY – Top 10 Shootout Day
At 4.05pm.
Do not speak.
Do not breath.
Do not expect any communication.
There will be zero response.

It’s hold‑your‑breath, glued‑to‑the‑telly time for the Top Ten Shootout — the most intense single‑lap theatre in motorsport. One driver. One lap. One chance.

It’s not for the faint‑hearted.
Thunder down Conrod Straight at 300km/h?
That takes nerves made of titanium.

Will Chaz’s blue hair work its magic again and help him topple his 2021 lap record?
Time will tell — and we’ll be right there, following every second, every heartbeat, every millimetre of The Mountain.

Bathurst Saturday.
Silence.
Focus.
Send it.

⚡ FRIDAY – Qualifying Pressure
Friday at Bathurst: where qualifying gets serious and every driver suddenly remembers how narrow the top of the mountain actually is.

Today sets the tone for the weekend. Fast laps, big risks, and a whole lot of “did you SEE that?” moments. Trying to control that itch to just get a bit more out of it during qually, without sending it into the fence.

The workshop is set up. We're not going to miss a thing. Loving every minute.

🔥 THURSDAY – Engines On
Bathurst starts TODAY. Practice sessions, early pace, and the first hints of who’s feeling brave enough to take on The Mountain this year. Feeling just a little excited!

The biggest race of the calendar is officially underway. If you hear rumbling in the distance, don’t worry — that’s just 600 horsepower echoing across Australia.

Telly on in the workshop and glued to the updates. Who know what this year will bring - but bring it on!

🔧 WEDNESDAY – One More Sleep
One more sleep until Bathurst kicks off. Drivers are doing last minute prep. Fans are piling in like they’ve heard someone’s doing hot laps in a shopping trolley down Conrod Straight. Teams are triple checking everything because Bathurst loves throwing curveballs.

All for the Peter Brock Trophy.

Who can believe it’s 20 years since we lost the greatest of them all – The King of the Mountain. This year he will be honoured with special events, displays, reminding us all what a legend he was.

So strap in! Tomorrow the track wakes up. Sunday it bites. We’re ready for every second.

⛰️ TUESDAY – The Mountain Mood

It’s Tuesday, which means every Supercars fan is already mentally standing at the top of Mount Panorama listening for echoes of Supercar thunder.

Bathurst isn’t just a race — it’s a personality. A moody, unpredictable, occasionally unforgiving mountain that loves drama and has zero interest in being polite.

Two sleeps until engines fire up. The Mountain is waiting… and so are we.
