Most restorations happen in a shed. This one’s happening at Mazda HQ.
Mark’s own NA8 MX-5 is in Hiroshima, going through Mazda’s restoration program with the factory techs. It’s a rare chance to have the car restored by the people who built it.
Parts are on order, so the finished car is 3-6 months away.
What’s being done:
NA8 MX-5 Roadster, 67,000 km
Full nut-and-bolt interior: seats, mouldings, door trims
Brakes and suspension fully overhauled, plus a new subframe
New steering rack
Gearbox gets new bearings and seals
Aftermarket headers out, original back in
Mazda Genuine Parts throughout
Follow along for the finished car.
