Most people buying a setup have no idea they're already over their limits before they've even packed a bag.

Here's 6 things you need to know before your first tow πŸ‘‡

1️⃣ Your limit isn't just the tow rating β€” it's GCM. Car and trailer together, fully loaded.
2️⃣ Ball weight counts as load on your car. On a 2 tonne van that's roughly 200kg eating into your payload.
3️⃣ Where you pack matters more than how much. Weight at the back causes sway. Heavy stuff low, over the axle.
4️⃣ Check your trailer tyres β€” not just the tread. They perish with age before they look worn.
5️⃣ If your trailer is over 750kg it has its own brakes. They need a controller fitted and dialled in.
6️⃣ Don't guess your weights. Load it up exactly how you'll travel and hit a weighbridge.

Toyota just dropped an all-electric HiLux. πŸ‘€

144kW. 468Nm. Full time AWD.

Sounds decent on paper β€” until you look at the range.

315km from a full charge. Drop to the cab chassis version and that falls to 245km with a 2 tonne tow capacity.

For inner city tradies, fleet, mining, government? Probably makes sense.

For anyone actually going bush? Not even close.

We've already had two customers call us today asking about a GVM upgrade for one 🀣

Jmacx just got federal approval for the Ineos Grenadier & Quartermaster GVM upgrade. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

Here's what you need to know πŸ‘‡

Two options β€” 4 tonne and 4.5 tonne GVM. Both come with a GCM increase, so your towing capacity gets sorted at the same time.

The 4.5 tonne option is NV2 category. That's truck territory.

Right now the 2 inch lift is live β€” 265s up to 285s. 4 inch is coming. They're just waiting on final components.

And the best part? Whatever level you start at, you can move up later as your setup grows.

⚠️ Worth knowing β€” federal GVM approvals are locked to specific tyres. Pick the wrong kit and you're stuck post-rego. JMacx built their testing under LS16, Queensland approved and accepted across multiple states.
