New learner driving test tips

ROUNDABOUT — LEVEL 3

👀 Don’t focus on just one vehicle!

One car passes, and you see a gap. But have you checked what’s happening beyond that car?

At busy roundabouts, traffic can approach from multiple directions.

Keep scanning. Reassess the gap. Make sure it’s still safe before entering.

Good observation isn’t just seeing what’s in front of you. It’s knowing what else could affect your decision.

🚗 Stay alert. Keep scanning. Make a safe decision.

New learner driving test tips

ROUNDABOUT — LEVEL 2

🚗 Never rely on indicators alone!

We see it all the time at roundabouts:
❌ Late indicating
❌ No indicating
❌ Even the wrong indicator!

A vehicle signalling right may be turning right or making a U-turn. And sometimes, the indicator doesn’t match the driver’s actual movement.

👀 Look beyond the indicator.

Observe the vehicle’s position, speed and direction of travel.

If its movement is unclear and it could cross your path, wait until you can establish a safe gap.

Don’t assume. Don’t guess. Read the traffic and make a safe decision.

Have you experienced this at a roundabout? 👇

🎉 She did it! Licence secured! 🚗💯

A huge congratulations to my teenage student on passing her driving test on her second attempt! 👏

Failing a test can be disappointing, but what matters is how you respond. She came back, worked on the areas that needed improvement, built her confidence and put it all together when it mattered.

Seeing a young learner grow from being a learner driver into a safe and confident driver is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Well done! You earned it. 🙌

**New learner driving test tips **

ROUNDABOUT — LEVEL 1

You don’t need to wait until the roundabout is completely clear.

At a busy roundabout, waiting for every vehicle to pass may mean you never get a chance to enter.

Instead:

Slow down.
Observe the traffic.
Give way where required.
Enter when a safe gap is available.

The goal is not to wait for an empty roundabout.

It’s to recognise a safe opportunity to proceed.

🚗 Stay calm. Observe carefully. Make a safe decision.
