We had Darren and Deb’s new toy on the Dyno today to retune.
His hothouse green VY SS Ute is immaculate for its age and has a healthy cammed LS1 in front of the 6 speed manual trans and 3.91 rear.
While the Ute ran quite well it had a few tune issues that needed addressing and while we were at it; may as well see if we can find a little more power too ! 😎
Results were impressive and the car is fun to drive!

Friday nights testing session first pass was unexpected as the car bogged off the line resulting in a very slow 1.79 60 foot. Even still we managed a 6.50 in the 8th at 115 mph.
The next two passes after that were very loose as the Monaro was back to misbehaving all over the track. On the second and last pass of the night the blower belt decided it had done enough - shredding before 1/2 track.
Saturday qualifying with the new belt on the car still misbehaved and did not feel right loosing 5mph in the 8th. We thought it was just belt slip with the fresh belt, 2nd pass still no change down 5mph and all over the track.
So we decided to investigate a little further only running 2.1 60 foot due to traction with a 10.39 at 141 but the concern was mph has dropped off. We thought we would check the throttle and noticed the throttle cable had stretched with a bent bracket from when it shredded the belt and we only had 3/4 throttle. After fixing this we went back out and the car left strong staying hooked however a 3rd gear miss shift due to a broken shifter ended the run. A 1.5 second in the 60 looked promising.
Head back for another run after MacGyver repairing the shifter the car hooks with only 1 pedal and everything is going well and another miss shift into 3rd finding neutral and slowing down realising I can’t select third at all..To top it off we also snapped the new blower belt when the engine hit the limiter. Stick shift racing is fun but tough to get dialled in. We will repair and plan to be back on track for October Rd 5 😎

I have a Fresh High performance LS short assembly available.
LS1 alloy block bored and honed to 3.905”
New CP Bullet forged flat top pistons with steel top and ductile iron Napier 2nd.
New Gen 4 resized and bushed conrods with ARP rod bolts to suit floating 945 thou piston pins.
New LS2 cast crankshaft with 24T reluctor.
New Calico coated HXN rod and HX main bearings.
Fully assembled with rings gapped and bearing clearances checked.
Perfect bottom end for a tough NA street /strip with nitrous or burnout car engine.
Sold on an outright basis- no exchange needed.
Can also supply as a long or complete engine to whatever level required.

Proven 300rwkw combo.
Engine professionally freshened and re-assembled.
Power honed on Sunnen and turbo washed.
New rings and bearings. std
Crank cleaned, checked and linished std/std.
Crow 871285 hydraulic cam 234/238 114lsa with 595/595 lift.
New GM lifter trays and LS7 lifters.
New rollmaster timing chain and arp cam bolts.
Heads recoed with performance beehive spring kit and moly pushrods.
New Mahle mls gasket set used.
New genuine GM tty head bolts used.
New water pump.
New platinum plugs
New Powerbond 25% underdrive balancer fitted.
Comes complete as in photos from manifold to sump, balancer to flex plate, mounts and with HSV extractors; less bolt on accessories (ps pump, starter, alternator etc) Comes with coils, leads, new oil filter and with engine sensors.

Engine will come with base tune file loaded onto owners pcm to suit this cam and combo as either manual or auto if required.
