Is this part of the future of coffee in rural Australia? ☕️

Brooke from Babes in the Bush in Barraba is taking a huge leap of faith, and we’re excited to be part of it.

She’s bringing a specialty drinks bar into her home and giftwares store, with iced lattes, matcha, frappés and beautiful hot coffees — all without a traditional espresso machine.

Our pre-batched espresso is brewed by our experienced baristas here at Walcha Coffee, ready for Brooke to turn into delicious drinks. It’s an exciting way for small country towns to serve world-class coffee with a simpler setup.

Brooke is a true innovator, backing her vision and bringing something new to her community. How good is it to see this happening in rural NSW?

They’re not open just yet, but hopefully everything will be ready before Christmas. Keep an eye on Babes in the Bush for updates!

My kind of therapy. ☕🥐

The sights and sounds of the roastery. Careen loading the hopper on the coffee bagging machine. Wyatt pulling hot croissants out of the oven. The familiar sound of the roaster firing up.

And a lovely single origin gifted to us by Steven at Rosso at the Brisbane expo, taking its turn in the cup.

There’s something grounding about these ordinary moments. People you love working alongside, familiar routines, and something good being made.

A little glimpse into our day. Wouldn’t trade it. 🤎

The Walcha Motorcycle Rally won’t be running this year following last year’s incident. Our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected.

For those wanting to visit on 19–21 November, Luke at the caravan park has organised live music, a tattoo competition and other activities, with some local businesses also getting involved.

We’ll be open at Walcha Coffee and would love to see you drop in for a coffee and a chat.

There’s plenty to love about a ride through our beautiful countryside and a few days in town. Bring your mates, support the local businesses and enjoy some Walcha hospitality.

The sun’s out, the countryside is green after the rain, and the waterfall is flowing. It’s a beautiful day to get out and enjoy our little corner of the world.

Come for a coffee, have a wander through town, then head out to the falls. Bring a friend and make a day of it.

Fresh bread straight out of the oven? Absolutely. 🍞
Coffee straight out of the roaster? Give it a moment. ☕️

Sometimes the best thing we can do for your coffee is leave it alone for a little while.

After roasting, the beans release carbon dioxide. Giving them time to rest helps you get a more balanced, enjoyable brew—especially with espresso.

We also nitrogen-flush our bags to help protect freshness, and put both the roast date and best-before date on the bottom. Take a look next time you crack one open.

Because that fresh coffee smell is pretty special. And the cup should live up to it. 🤎
