Great day/night out at Roll Racing Sydney Fast Festival yesterday with two ERS built Evo’s

Both cars copped nonstop abuse all day and night with zero issues. Plenty of runs, plenty of seat time, and both owners had an absolute blast.

Richard’s Richard Spusta Tommi Makinen ERS-1000+hp evo was out doing what it does best, non stop runs with 1100hp and NOS while Vin’s freshly finished Electric Blue Evo 9 made its first appearance with the newly released ERS-800hp 2.4L mivec setup. It was also Vin’s first roll racing event, and the car was flawless from the first run to the last

Nothing beats seeing customers enjoying their cars driving them hard without reaching for a spanner. Looking forward to getting a few more ERS builds out at the next events coming up 💪

WHAT A WEEKEND

If there’s one thing Time Attack keeps teaching us, it’s that nothing comes easy.

After fighting engine issues on Friday and Saturday morning, we finally rolled out Sunday on fresh Bridgestones… only to find our ACD pressure sensor had failed, basically turning the Evo into a front-wheel drive. Even then, we still managed mid/low 24s, but we knew there was a lot more in the car.

A massive thank you to our mate Martin Notaras for pulling the sensor off his own car so we could get back out. That’s what motorsport is all about 👌

Once the ACD was working again, Jamal Jimmy Evo Assaad instantly felt the difference and went on the attack. Unfortunately, our sequential gearbox breather started pushing oil onto the rear tyres, costing us grip right when it mattered most. Rather than risk the car, we called it there.

To come away with 2nd place after everything the team worked through, we’re genuinely stoked. The data shows there’s still plenty left in this Evo, and that’s the exciting part

Congratulations to Michael Garland and the GotItRex team on the win. Awesome driving, awesome team, and it’s great to see EVO vs WRX still putting on a show after so many years in Motorsport

Friday & Saturday Update – AUS Time Attack Time Attack | ERS Team

Friday didn’t go to plan.

After our first practice session, we found a mechanical issue that, after a few checks, looked like it could end our weekend. We genuinely considered packing up and heading home.

Instead, the Jimmy & ERS/OE Performance team made one decision… we’re not giving up.

A huge thank you to Dad and Ibi for driving up the parts we needed from Sydney, arriving around midnight Friday. Yasin, Omar, Riley and the boys had everything stripped and ready, then returned early Saturday morning to rebuild half the engine in the pits.

By lunchtime Saturday, the car was back together ready for its first laps for the event

Our first check session back was on used tyres, where we managed a 1:27, putting us straight into P3. After fixing a few teething issues, we improved again, then fitted a fresh set of new Bridgestone RE tyres for the final session and broke our PB once more to finish the day P2 with a 1.24.4

More important than the result was the effort behind it. This weekend reminded us that perseverance, teamwork and trust in the Almighty can turn a setback into an opportunity.

Alhamdulillah, we’re grateful to be back on track.

Today is Sunday, and we’re ready for one more battle. God willing we’ll give it everything we’ve got. Whatever today’s result, we’re proud that we never gave up.

Aus Time Attack prep is underway. 🏁

Those who know us know we’re always pushing the Evo platform forward through testing, development and real-world track use.

Our evo 6 is running several new products, including our new yet to be released ARROW cast mivec head a project years in the making that we’re excited to finally put under pressure. We’re also testing our new ERS x PureFab turbo kit paired with a Turbosmart turbo, along with some new Bridgestone tyres for the weekend.

A big thanks to Nick from NA Autosport for making the trip down from qld and helping us refine the package. We’ve run Nick’s MoTeC firmware since 2019 and it’s great to finally have him here in person helping us dial our ERS package

Now it’s time to put it all to the test and see what the stopwatch says.
