We appreciate the creativity, but tin foil belongs on your BBQ, not your exhaust system! 🌯💨

On the right, you’ll see an exhaust Y-pipe that someone tried to save using exhaust paste, tin foil, and a lot of hope. While a quick patch might quiet down a loud exhaust leak for a day or two, it’s only a temporary band-aid. If your truck or SUV has a strange humming, growling, or clicking noise coming from the rear end... don’t ignore it. This is what happens when you wait too long. 😬👇

We pulled this axle shaft apart and found a finger full of “glitter paste”. That thick, metallic sludge is actually the remnants of a wheel bearing that completely pulverized itself inside the housing.
When a bearing goes dry or fails, the metal-on-metal friction creates intense heat and shreds the components. If left alone, it can eventually score the axle shaft so badly that the whole shaft has to be replaced—or worse, the wheel can lock up entirely while driving.
We caught this one before it caused a catastrophic failure, prepped the surfaces, pressed in a fresh new bearing, and got this customer safely back on the road.
