I have had the pleasure of working with this amazing client and her super sweet dog. When we first met her dog was so anxious and demanding that our first conversation was riddled with barking and attention seeking behaviour. She came to me because she was overwhelmed with her dogs reactivity and has tried everything ( and I mean everything - she is so dedicated to her dog and the training) having two small children won't hold her back either ! The effort she has put in to help her dog grow the skills to manage everyday events has changed the way she now interacts, reacts and trains her dog.
I am so proud of her and the improvements she and her dog have made together. This scene would not have been possible 6 months ago when we started together and now she can confidently go out with her dog and she knows she can still maintain and grow her dogs skills to continue to get better and better .
This is exactly why I study hard, stay current by mentoring under a vet behaviourist and really take the time to figure out the dog to create the perfect plan to get results.

"Training a reactive dog would take hours every day. I can barely manage the walks we have!"
What if I told you the most powerful training happens in everyday scenarios not in the hard moments.
While your coffee brews - play a proximity game - 30 seconds
Waiting by the window - play DMT - 1 minute
Before opening the front door - make sure your dogs brain is in their head - 10 second check in (middle, touch,2 paws, ect)
During commercial breaks - impulse control games - 2 minutes
We're talking about moments that already exist in your routine. The difference? Using them strategically.
One client recently told me: "I thought I needed a full 30-minute session. Turns out, I was missing dozens of tiny opportunities to build confidence every single day."

Those formal training setups you're picturing? They matter, but real progress happens in your living room, at your front door, during everyday moments.
The "no time" excuse keeps you trapped in a cycle that actually steals MORE time from you.
How many minutes do you lose to stressful walks? Avoiding triggers? Managing meltdowns?
Training your reactive dog isn't about adding hours to your schedule. It's about transforming the time you're already spending into confidence-building moments.
Comment one way you can add training into your daily life like Indy and I did in the video.

Still want to get in on the action of dog parkour?
Shoot me a DM if you want to learn how to grow trust , communication and some amazing highly transferable skills all while having a great time with your dog.

The idea behind this 4 week program is to learn about your dog and how they think, process information and work through novel or slightly nerve wracking situations. By interacting with environmental objects you can grow your dogs skill with every outing you do together.

Total beginner? Good. This was made for you. 😊
You don't need any dog training experience to join the Fit Fido Dog Parkour Course. The app walks you through every behaviour with video demos, and at the end of week 1 we hop on a live group video call together so you can ask all your questions and make sure you're on the right track. We continue the fun with weekly challenges and community fun, then an awesome adventure walk at the end to wrap it up.

You, your dog, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to try something new.

What an awesome workshop with New Discoveries Dog Training with Jade Fountain Animal Behaviour Matters . Tonight we worked on our mechanics ( skills) as a trainer . Marking at the right time, delivering the reward , pair and shaping and so much more it was great and not just for trainers , pet parents learned valuable skills too. There is one more session tomorrow night with a very important topic of cooperative care so if you are free to attend message Karen ASAP to see if there are any spots left.

Ever notice how some dogs just take life in stride?
New place, no problem. Weird noise, whatever. Unexpected situation, let's check it out! 🐶
That quality , what trainers call optimism , is something you can actually build in your dog. And parkour is one of the best ways to do it.
When a dog learns that trying new things leads to good outcomes, they start to generalise that feeling. The world becomes a safe, interesting place instead of an unpredictable one.
These dogs are doing parkour on their own because their parents do parkour on every walk and outing. The confidence and optimism that has grown in the dogs is unreal, the oldest one used to shy away from everything and now he jumps from log to rock , down steep hills and into small spaces like it is no big deal. This also transformed his unease with other dogs and he can now walk without issue from passing dogs.

It's one of my favourite things to watch happen during the Fit Fido Dog Parkour Course and it usually starts showing up by week 2. 🌿 Don't miss out !
Still a few early bird spots left at $120
PM for more info.

Want a stronger bond with your dog? Teach them something as a team that gets them to use their brain. 🐾
Dog parkour is one of the best relationship-building activities out there because it's completely collaborative. You're not telling your dog what to do. You're working together to figure out each obstacle, reading each other, and celebrating every small win.
Over time, your dog starts looking to YOU when they're unsure about something. That trust is everything and it shows up on walks, at the vet, in busy places, everywhere.
The Fit Fido Dog Parkour Course gives you the skills AND the time together to make that happen.
Early bird spots are $120
