Here comes the water, it will rise steady for the next few days now at least.
Prediction,
NSR be too high for most recreational users in the Edmonton area by this weekend
I run trips in faster water but it depends on if it’s rising or falling.
Rising water picks up debris along the banks, and floating logs are not safe.
Falling levels quickly drop the debris out and conditions improve quickly.

About the special weather statement that just went out. West central Alberta is going to get hit with a LOT of RAIN.
If this much rain hits the north Sask drainage basin, it will be flooded next week, into the following weekend.
River will rise by multiple METERS elevation,
And will increase flow substantially.

Flood week is coming early.

Throwing a rescue bag, since I had to repair and repack a bunch of them.
Safety gear must include 15m buoyant heaving line.
If you need a rope, it’s best in a throw bag that is properly cleaned and packed.
