Coming on Friday: Well this week has been a busy one. We got everything together for the 89" motor, but not without another "Brand New" part being a problem. We got to get out of the shop to search for some old Harley parts, and visit with friends. What a great day!! But best of all we got to hear the S&S 89" run for the first time! Check it out on Friday. Like, Subscribe, Comment and Share us out there.

Coming on Friday : Well another week in the books and we are one step closer to getting the old 89" running. Thought I would get to it this week, but there are always things that slow you down.
But we moved ahead and got the top end on, rebuilt our S&S Carb, and figured out what we have for pushrods. Who knew they would be metric thread? You can't take anything for granted these days.
There is always a "fly in the ointment" it seems.

In this episode of the Armageddon Harley-Davidson Evolution rebuild series, we solve a piston wrist pin fitment issue by shortening oversized wrist pins and show the trial-and-error process used to get the correct fit for our Harley Evolution rebuild. We also uncover a common cause of Evolution head and base gasket leaks that many builders overlook: stretched head bolts. If you've replaced leaking base gaskets only to see the problem return, bad head bolts may be the real culprit.

This week in the Armageddon build, the Evo throws more problems our way — because that’s real shop life. We dial in valve clearances, sink the valve springs, check piston ring end gaps, and get the cylinders ready. Just when everything looks good, another wrong part shows up and stops the job cold. We push forward anyway: finish the cam chest, install the lifters and blocks, and keep the momentum alive.

This week we move ahead and get all of our Valve clearances figured out, sink our Valve Springs in to the head, check our Piston Ring End Gaps and get ready to install our cylinders. But just when you think you are good to go, another problem rears its ugly head. This bring us to a stop, but we move ahead getting the Cam Chest finished and the Lifters and Blocks installed. Its never dull and their is always more to do, but we are getting closer.
