Here’s your post. At Killarney Lake Boat Works, we just finished restoring the Gillis family’s 1995 Bayliner — a true classic powered by a 4.3 liter Mercruiser. This boat took a beating during the 2026 hailstorm on Killarney Lake. It was pushed up onto the rocks, leaving side damage along with hits to the chine and the bottom of the keel. We brought it back to life. Every inch cleaned, repaired, and refinished with gelcoat from Spectrum Gelcoat in Saint Augustine, Florida, and their new G-Tech Ceramic Basecoat, Topcoat, and Quick Ceramic system. The result is stunning — and it’s going home to the Gillis family, where it belongs, ready to stay in their family for generations. Here at Killarney Lake, we don’t just do the job. We set the standard. Because some boats aren’t just boats — they’re memories on the water, and they deserve to come home better than they left.

Cool pics of a classic Chris-Craft Chris Cat — pure 80s tunnel cat / racing-style performance boat vibes.
This is one of those iconic high-performance catamarans from the Murray Chris-Craft era. In the early ’80s, after Chris-Craft Industries sold the boat division (1981), the new owners (including Dick Genth) pushed hard back into powerboat racing. In 1984 they introduced the 300 Chris-Cat, a roughly 30-foot tunnel catamaran built for speed and offshore competition. The hull was based on a modified version of the George Linder Shadow Cat design from around 1979-80 — a proven race platform known for its tunnel layout, which helped with speed, stability, and handling in chop compared to pure V-bottoms of the time.

Chris Cats showed up on race circuits (Northeast and elsewhere), set speed records in class, and developed a following for being strong, relatively heavy-duty hulls that could still run hard. When production wound down, the molds lived on in other builders (American Offshore’s AO 31 and related cats). They remain a cool piece of performance boat history — that distinctive Chris Cat branding (the roaring cat emblem) and the tunnel hull look scream pure ’80s go-fast.

This one is packing twin 502s — the big-block Chevy 502 cubic-inch engines that were the go-to high-horsepower marine powerplants of the era. Plenty of grunt, classic sound, and the right setup for a boat like this.

Killarney Lake Boatworks. The Anderson family’s 2006 Stanza 206 is in for its marine damage survey, and we’re bringing her back to glory. Hail left its mark, but Spectrum gelcoat from St. Augustine, Florida, color-matched to that 2006 white, makes it disappear. Rear upholstery restored to match. By summer 2027, the Andersons are tubing and wakeboarding on Killarney Lake like nothing happened. The knowledge behind it runs deep. Generations of Southern Ontario boating on the Great Lakes, now rooted in small-town Killarney, Manitoba, with a prairie touch. This isn’t just a shop. It’s family. This is Killarney Lake Boat works.

Last winterization in the books. Captain Blake Nestibo rolled in with his Malibu Wakesetter for his fourth straight year, and when that orange hull hits the lift, you know the season’s officially done. Three years of taking care of Blake’s boat, and it never gets old.
It’s been a busy one. We’re pivoting now into the November eleventh party, then straight into full-body gel coat structural repairs to knock out the hail damage backlog from this summer. Plenty of boats waiting, and we’re ready for them.

Twenty twenty-six was a great year. Twenty twenty-seven’s going to be better. And honestly? We’re looking forward to the winter.

Here at Killarney Lake Boat Works, we just wrapped up a nice quick burner trip down to Grand Forks. Saw what we had to see, swam in a pool, had some fun, hit up Texas Roadhouse and Olive Garden — lived the dream. Now we’re on our way home back to Manitoba. See you guys on Tuesday. I’m out.

And here’s the new Remembrance Day flag we made for November 11th, 2026 — honoring our veterans.
Quick shoutout to Corey, who called me last night and said, ‘Aren’t you supposed to be on vacation?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘It’s called relax. Go enjoy the pool and spend time with your family.’ So I did. Thanks, Tron.
