Here at Andy's Auto Wreckers's U-Pull-It, we take the environmental impact of automotive recycling seriously!

Having been an OARA Gold Seal member for 15+ years and regularly audited by the Canadian Auto Recyclers Environmental Code (CAREC), we're always striving to reduce the harmful impact of End-of-Life Vehicles on our environment.

Help us "save the planet one part at a time", by getting paid top dollar for your End-of-Life Vehicle and have peace of mind its being recycled responsibly.

Good for your budget. Good for the environment. The Right Choice.

What happens after a vehicle’s final drive?

For an OARA member, the process begins with a careful evaluation by trained automotive-recycling professionals. Each vehicle is inspected to identify the value it still holds—not only as recyclable material, but as a source of quality original equipment parts that can serve another vehicle.

Fluids and potentially hazardous materials are safely removed and responsibly managed. Reusable components are then identified, carefully dismantled, cleaned, tested and prepared for resale.

This professional process does more than keep valuable materials out of the waste stream. It provides consumers and repair facilities with access to affordable, quality recycled parts—helping reduce repair costs and extending the useful life of vehicles already on Ontario’s roads.

OARA members are leaders in this work. Through skilled employment, exceptional customer service and responsible environmental practices, they provide lasting value within the communities they serve.

A vehicle’s final drive is not the end. In many ways, it is the beginning of its next useful chapter.

A vehicle may reach the end of its time on the road—but its value does not end there.

OARA members are leaders in professional automotive recycling. As established local businesses, they provide exceptional service to consumers and repair facilities while creating jobs, supporting their communities and setting a high standard for environmental stewardship.

When an end-of-life or total-loss vehicle arrives, it is carefully processed. Fluids and potentially hazardous materials are safely removed, quality original equipment parts are recovered and inspected, and metals, tires, batteries and other materials are directed into appropriate recycling streams.

Approximately **85% of a vehicle’s weight can be reused or recycled.** That means less waste, fewer new resources consumed and more quality recycled parts available to help reduce the rising cost of vehicle repairs.

This is the leadership OARA members provide every day: serving their communities, protecting the environment and helping keep safe, affordable vehicles on Ontario’s roads.

There is a part of automotive recycling that many people never see.

Professional automotive recyclers process late-model vehicles that have been declared total losses—often because repairing the entire vehicle is no longer economical, not because every part has reached the end of its useful life.

These vehicles can contain high-quality, low-mileage original equipment parts that are carefully recovered, inspected and made available to consumers and repair facilities across Ontario.

By the last calculation, Ontario’s recycled-parts industry was helping consumers and repair facilities save an estimated **$537 million to $806 million** compared with purchasing equivalent new parts. As the cost of living and vehicle repairs continues to rise, those savings are becoming even more important.

Quality recycled parts help make repairs more affordable, extend the life of vehicles and reduce the need to manufacture new products.
