Your battery can appear perfectly fine during summer and struggle as soon as temperatures drop.
Cold weather reduces a battery's available starting power while the engine may require more energy to turn over. A proper battery test measures its ability to deliver current under load, not simply whether it shows voltage.

Here's a simple fall check many drivers forget: inspect all of your exterior lights.
With shorter daylight hours approaching, functioning headlights, brake lights, turn signals and licence plate lights become even more important.
Try checking them against a garage door or reflective surface if you don't have someone available to help.

That thin layer of rust you sometimes see on brake rotors after your vehicle sits overnight is often caused by moisture and can disappear after a few stops.
Persistent grinding, heavy scoring, vibration or significant corrosion is different and should be inspected.
Your brakes operate in one of the harshest environments on the vehicle, exposed to heat, water, road salt and debris.

Getting your seasonal tires installed is also a good time to check your wheel alignment.
For $199.99, get an alignment and tire change on rims. Proper wheel alignment helps your tires wear more evenly and can improve how your vehicle tracks and handles on the road.
If your vehicle pulls to one side, your steering wheel sits off-centre, or your tires are wearing unevenly, an alignment may be needed.
Check out our website to book your appointment.

You don't need to wait for snow to install winter tires.
Winter tire compounds are designed to remain more flexible as temperatures get colder. A commonly used guideline is to consider making the switch when temperatures are consistently around 7°C or below. Booking your tire swap before the first snowfall can also help you avoid the seasonal rush.

Brakes feeling different than they used to?
Save 15% on premium brake pads for a limited time. Brake pads wear gradually, which can make changes in braking performance easy to overlook until the wear becomes significant.
Find the location nearest you to have your braking system inspected and ask about the promotion.

Tire tread isn't just about whether the tire is legally worn out.
As tread depth decreases, the tire has less ability to move water and slush away from the contact patch. That's why wet and winter performance can start declining before a tire looks completely worn.
Checking tread depth now can help you determine whether your tires are ready for another season.

A check engine code doesn't automatically tell a technician which part needs replacing.
Diagnostic trouble codes identify the system where the vehicle detected a problem. Proper diagnosis may involve testing sensors, wiring, air leaks, fuel delivery or other related components before determining the actual cause.
Reading the code is the beginning of diagnosis, not the end.
