❄NOVEMBER MONTHLY NEWSLETTER☃
Winter Is Just Around the Corner!
As the temperatures drop and winter weather approaches, now is the perfect time to make sure your vehicle is ready for the months ahead. A little preventative maintenance today can help avoid unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs when the cold weather arrives.
❄Is Your Vehicle Winter Ready?
Here are a few important items to have checked before winter settles in:
• Winter Tires: Ensure your tires are installed, properly inflated and have adequate tread depth for winter driving.
• Battery Health: Cold temperatures put extra strain on your battery. Have it tested to avoid an unexpected no-start.
• Brakes: Make sure your braking system is in good condition for slippery roads.
• Antifreeze/Coolant: Check that your coolant is at the proper level and provides adequate freeze protection.
• Windshield Wipers: Replace worn wiper blades and top up your winter windshield washer fluid.
• Heating & Defrost: Make sure your heating system and defrosters are working properly.
• Lights: Check all exterior lights to ensure you can see and be seen during shorter daylight hours.
🚗Don’t Forget Your Tire Re-Torque!
If you’ve recently had your winter tires installed, remember to have your wheel nuts re-torqued after approximately 100 km of driving.
It’s a quick but important safety check!
🚘November Driving Tip
Give yourself extra stopping distance when driving on snow or ice. Accelerate gently, brake smoothly and allow additional time to reach your destination. Remember, even vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive need extra caution in winter conditions.
🔧A Little Prevention Goes a Long Way
Small problems can quickly become bigger ones when temperatures drop. Addressing unusual noises, warning lights, leaks or changes in how your vehicle drives now can help prevent inconvenient repairs later.
