🏛️ Les Armateurs du Saint-Laurent / St. Lawrence Ship Operators ont amorcé le mois de juin avec une importante journée de représentation sur la colline parlementaire à Ottawa, marquée par de nombreuses rencontres avec des élus, des représentants gouvernementaux et de hauts fonctionnaires fédéraux. Ces échanges de haut niveau ont permis de rappeler le rôle stratégique des armateurs dans l’économie canadienne, la fluidité des chaînes d’approvisionnement et la résilience du réseau de transport.

🚢 Nous avons mis de l’avant quatre priorités pour le transport maritime domestique : cabotage et infrastructures stratégiques, transition énergétique, main-d’œuvre et formation, ainsi que logistique nordique et résilience de l’Arctique. Notre objectif est clair : faire reconnaître le corridor Saint-Laurent–Grands Lacs comme atout national et soutenir un réseau maritime moderne, compétitif et durable.

🇨🇦 The Shipowners’ day in Ottawa

🏛️ St. Lawrence Ship Operators kicked off June with a major advocacy day on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, with numerous meetings with elected officials, government representatives, and senior federal public servants. These high-level exchanges highlighted the strategic role that shipowners play in the Canadian economy, in maintaining fluid supply chains, and in strengthening the resilience of our national transportation network.

🚢 We focused our message on four key priorities for domestic marine transportation: cabotage and strategic infrastructure, the maritime energy transition, workforce development and training, and Arctic logistics and northern resilience. Our goal is clear: ensure that the St. Lawrence–Great Lakes corridor is recognized as a national asset and that public policies support a modern, competitive, and sustainable marine transportation system.

🤝 Thank you to all ministers, MPs, Senators, ministerial staff, and senior officials we met for their time and the quality of our discussions. Together, let’s keep building a strong and innovative maritime future for Canada. ⚓

🇨🇦🇺🇸Renforcer le dialogue sur le corridor Saint-Laurent–Grands Lacs // 🇨🇦🇺🇸 Strengthening dialogue on the St. Lawrence–Great Lakes corridor

Les Armateurs du Saint-Laurent ont organisé mercredi matin, à Québec, une rencontre en format table-ronde avec l’ambassadeur des États-Unis au Canada, Peter Hoekstra, et la consule générale des États-Unis à Québec, Anne Dudte.

Les échanges ont porté sur les enjeux, les défis et les occasions de renforcer les relations commerciales entre le Canada et les États-Unis, plus particulièrement dans les Grands Lacs et l’ensemble de la voie maritime du Saint-Laurent (3e économie mondiale).

⚓ Cette discussion a permis de rappeler l’importance stratégique de ce corridor binational pour le commerce, les chaînes d’approvisionnement et la compétitivité économique de nos deux pays.

On Wednesday morning in Québec City, the St. Lawrence Ship Operators hosted a roundtable discussion with Peter Hoekstra, United States Ambassador to Canada, and Anne Dudte, U.S. Consul General in Québec City.

Discussions focused on the challenges, opportunities, and priorities for strengthening trade relations between Canada and the United States, particularly throughout the Great Lakes and the broader St. Lawrence Seaway system — a corridor that supports what is often described as the world's third-largest economy.
