We were running in to a bottle neck on this MkIV Supra last time we had it had the shop. After chatting about the best course of action with TJ Savoy we went with upgrading the exhaust manifold this season.

We dialed in the Link Engine Management on pump and E85. The results speak for themselves. Choosing to limit the torque for reliability in the stock bottom end, we still picked up 80whp on the same boost, and expect good reliability at this power level for him.

ET Street Rs on 15” wheels, help this beast hook, and some rolling anti-lag helps it hit from a roll.

That Track Channel with some great coverage of the Border Wars event we attended the beginning of this month. It was a really impressive event, with FMX, Sleds, and Quads, great racing, and solid organization.

Zachary Lapointe (Zac) brought us his wild LSX370Z at the recommendation of Bob Bob Dudenhoeffer for some tuning.

Bob completely rebuild the turbo and intercooler setup, to improve cooling and performance.

Final numbers were 800whp on pump and 1008whp on E85.

We were hoping for 4 digits so we turned up the base pressure enough that the fueling should get us there on his 1300s. 95% injector duty cycle we cracked the 1000whp mark, and called it a day.

It’s a good thing he’s got a set of ET Street Rs on it, as it needs every bit of tire it’s got!

Engine setup is a 6.2LSX on Tom Nelson mirrored 62mm twins.

This one was a flex tune on AEM Infinity, and we were able to not only make more power, but also improve the idle, drivability, and response vs his last setup.

Kelford Cams buckets are a fantastic upgrade for your engine build. Similarly priced to OEM, they offer increased durability to prevent failures.

This engine was taken apart due to a valve train noise, and one of the services we did was replacing the OEM buckets with these DLC coated buckets.

We run these DLC buckets on RB, 2J, and EJ motors when we do shimless conversions.

Had fun with the AFR team at in the Stick Shift shootout.

Canada vs USA

Lots of new small changes in the GC8 and we managed to make a couple decent passes before loosing to in the second round after an amateur mistake on my part staging. Regardless, Rich’s 8.6X would have taken us out, and kudos to him for winning the event!

We qualified with the first pass of the new setup being a 9.6@153mph.

We made some small changes, fed some power in to it and broke a front axle on our next pass in 2nd gear!

Thanks to Devan and Austin who helped swap out the axle in the pits quickly before E1, and we relaxed the short track power a little to prevent breakage, and managed to win round one with both Doug (GTO) and I having issues hitting 3rd gear, both of us still clutching every gear and still on synchro transmissions.

Being the only car in the class not a V8, and most of the field running low 9s, we knew it wouldn’t be easy, so we’re happy to make it through the first round.

Our second round matchup was with who I’ve been itching to race. After some pit lane games and laughs, I was hoping to give him a good run and put on a show at least, and loaded a tune in that I expected would be good for close to 160mph. As I staged in, he turned on his second light, and I turned off my second 🤦🏻‍♂️, thinking I needed to adjust the car I got off launch control, and then the light went yellow and I watched Rich drive off in to the distance… apparently I need to do more heads up racing, as my amateur move proves!

Win or learn, we are happy with the result. We race to learn.
