Truck Front Levelling Fundamentals.
Most truck owners choose to level or elevate the front of their stock truck to match the height of the rear, typically increasing the front by 2 to 2.5 inches. This can be achieved by purchasing complete spring struts or spacers to add to the top of existing struts. Following this modification, an alignment is necessary to restore proper tire geometry. However, in some cases, the adjustment on the lower control arms may max out, preventing the achievement of correct geometry. The solution lies in new upper control arms that enable the ball joint to properly angle within the control arms. When ordering a levelling kit, it is essential to inquire about the need for upper control arms. Failure to restore proper geometry can result in premature wear on expensive tires.
