Let’s talk about the “S” word… SNOW.

It might feel early to be talking about snow, but here in Saskatchewan, we know it’s only a matter of time. Soon, we’ll be scraping windshields, checking the forecast, and allowing extra time for our morning commutes.

As much as we’d love to skip winter altogether, snow and ice bring slippery roads, reduced visibility, and longer stopping distances. Even experienced drivers can find themselves in an unexpected collision.

We can’t control the weather, but we can prepare for it!

🚗 Prepare your vehicle. Check your tires, brakes, lights, and wipers before temperatures drop.

🛣️ Adjust your driving. Slow down for road conditions, leave extra space, and avoid sudden braking.

📸 Know what to do after a collision. Make sure everyone is safe, document the scene if possible, and exchange information with the other driver.

📋 Understand your insurance. In Saskatchewan, SGI handles auto insurance claims. Knowing how to report a collision and understanding your coverage can make the process less stressful.

Starting January 1, 2027, SGI’s standard deductible is set to increase from $700 to $950.

Look what arrived today! 👀🏆

Back in June, our very own Tiana was named ACX Apprentice of the Year, and seeing this show up today was a pretty cool reminder of how far she’s come.

Since joining our team in May 2025, it’s been so much fun watching her grow — from competing at the Skills Canada Saskatchewan Provincial Competition, to making it to Skills Canada Nationals, and now having the confidence to keep learning, asking questions and working alongside our Red Seal technicians.

The growth, confidence and determination she’s shown in such a short time is something to be proud of.

And this is just the beginning.

Congrats again, Tiana! You’ve earned it.

We’re proud to share Sherry Holmes’ recent visit to one of our sister stores in Ontario, where she had the opportunity to learn more about the Autobody Repair Trade from ACX Excellence Auto Collision’s own Ethan Almeida.

Ethan will be representing Team Canada at WorldSkills Shanghai this month, and it was great to see him sharing his knowledge and passion for the trade.

Ethan is a great example of the talent, dedication and opportunity that exists within the Autobody Repair industry and ACX.

Even more importantly, Ethan is helping showcase our trade to the next generation of technicians and demonstrating what a career in the skilled trades can look like.

🌧️ Stay Safe Out There! 🌧️

With all the heavy rain moving through the area over the past few days, there is a lot of standing water on the roads.

A friendly reminder to take it easy on your commute and drive to conditions. Standing water can conceal deep potholes, loose debris, open manholes, or curb edges that can cause significant damage to your tires, wheels, and suspension system.

Water Safety Tips:

- Avoid deep puddles: If you can't gauge the depth, bypass it.
- Watch for hydroplaning: Slow down to keep full tire traction on wet pavement.
- Never push through heavy flooding: Water intake can easily cause engine hydrolock or severe electrical failures.

We’ve had a serious amount of rain over the past day and a half, and the roads are showing it. Standing water, reduced visibility, and slick roads can make for some pretty unpredictable driving conditions.
