WOULD YOU RATHER: MECHANIC EDITION

Picture this. It’s Friday. Your coffee went cold before the first sip. Your 10mm socket has vanished into thin air. Parts says, “Should be here Monday.” Your patience is running on fumes, and you’ve mentally quit three times before lunch.

And because things are going so well…

WOULD YOU RATHER:

A) Spend 3 hours fighting a seized bolt that hasn’t moved since 2004.

OR

B) Spend 10 minutes explaining why a $40 part costs $600 to replace.

One involves a torch, excessive profanity, and possibly a broken tool.

The other involves explaining that the $40 part is conveniently located behind approximately half the vehicle.

Pick your poison.

Either way, the swear jar is probably making more money than you are today.

Winter is coming, and Saskatchewan isn't exactly known for easing us into it.

Before we're all scraping windshields and wondering why we live somewhere that hurts our faces six months out of the year, now's a good time to get your vehicle winter-ready.

Winter tires, batteries, block heaters, coolant, and all the little things that make those -30 mornings a little less miserable.

Give us a call at Automotive Unlimited to book your winter maintenance appointment. The weather might be unpredictable, but your vehicle shouldn't be.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Automotive Unlimited.

We’re thankful for our customers, our crew, and a long weekend to ignore the noises in our own vehicles.

Enjoy the food and the family. Good luck with whichever one gives you trouble.

We’re closed Monday Oct 12th, back at it Tuesday.

We’ve got room for two more good ones.

Automotive Unlimited has grown a lot over the last few years, and so has the kind of work coming through our doors.

So, we’re adding to the crew.

We’re looking for:

1 Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician

Strong diagnostics and electrical skills are a big deal to us. We’re looking for someone comfortable with the harder stuff, not just maintenance and parts changing.

1 Journeyperson Heavy Duty Truck & Transport Technician

Experienced, capable of working independently, and comfortable taking a job from diagnosis through repair.

We’re not looking to fill chairs. We’re looking for experienced techs who take pride in figuring things out, doing good work, and want a shop they can stick around at.

For qualifications, benefits and all the details, check out our full job postings on SaskJobs.ca:

A little dark Friday humour because parts pricing in 2026 has us sending some estimates with our eyes closed.

Sask fall is here, which means 5°C for the morning commute with the heated seats on, 24°C at lunch with the A/C going, and back to 3°C by supper because consistency is for the weaker provinces.

A few things that tend to show up right about now:

• Tire pressure lights suddenly appearing
• Batteries discovering they’re not as young as they thought
• Heaters getting turned on for the first time in months
• Wipers suddenly being called back to work after 8 weeks of weather being drier than a popcorn fart
• That little noise you ignored all summer becoming significantly less little

Winter is coming whether we consent or not.

If your vehicle needs a once-over before Saskatchewan turns the difficulty setting up to high, give us a call.
